"Here let me carry that for you, said Josh. I want to look like I am helping you to the other's." "Okay, here you go," said Penny. "I saw our queen leave on foot with three other girls not long ago," said Josh. "Do you know where they went?" "Yep, that is where I was coming from. Ginger asked me to deliver the wine and glasses to Ivy's place. They are having a four queen party there," said Penny. "Four queens, you mean they were all queens that left with Katilina?" asked Josh. "Yep, Ivy is a forest sprite and she is the Queen of the forest and land, Safire is the Queen of the Blue Fae and Alieya is the queen of all of Fae Land," said Penny. "That is where you are now, in Fae Land," said Penny. "Really and they all three Queens get along with no conflicts," said Josh. You would think having that many queens running things there would bound to be diffrence of opinions." "Well each queen is in charge of different stuff," said Penny. "Besides they are all good friends, there are other queens here too, like Pippa and Hennie. Everybody has their own talents and jobs to do. Okay you stand here, I am going to tell Ginger why you are here with me." Ginger was looking at her cell phone when Penny walked up to her. "Hi Ginger, what are you doing?" asked Penny." "Just searching things on the internet," said Ginger. "It is so easy too. I just ordered fifty pounds of mangos and fifty pounds of passion friut from a orchard in South America. I will need Fillina to take me there to get them. So I see you hired a helper." Penny giggled. "No but he wants to hang out with me for a while," said Penny. "He is bored sitting out there. "Bored nothing, he is into you in a big way. I saw you two out there talking and flirting," said Ginger. "Well he is very handsome and has blonde hair plus gorgeous green eyes," said Penny. I couldn't tell him he couldn't hang out with me. What would you do?" "Me, I would take him home and never let him out," said Ginger with a smile. "Just joking of coarse but it is almost lunch time so take him inside to the dining room and get one of the other girls to bring the jug of water back. You sit and talk with him and get to know him better. After lunch take him to the candy factory and pick up ten boxes of mixed candies for the palace. After that do what ever you want. Alieta put me in charge so I am going to enjoy it while she is gone." They both went onto the palace and Penny took Josh into the dining room. "Okay I'll take that jug now," said Penny. "Have a seat at the table and I will get a girl to fill this and bring it back. Are you hungry at all?" "Not a lot, said Josh. "We all ate not that long ago. Ya I know but that was almost two hours ago," said Penny. "Sally made a clocolate layer cake this morning. Do you like chocolate?" "Who doesn't, I could eat a slice," said Josh. "Good, I can too," said Penny then took the jug into the kitchen. A minute later an elf came out with the pitcher and smiled at Josh then left the dining room. Shortly after Penny came out with two plates of the cake and sat down across from Josh. "Here you go, Sally is a great cook," said Penny. "She makes the best food in the palace. That is why Ginger put her in charge here." Josh took a forkfull of the cake and tasted it. "Now this is good, I mean really good," said Josh. "Moist and very chocolatety. Best cake I have ever tasted." "Yep I told you so," said Penny. "So tell me a bit about yourself Josh. I told you what I do now it is your turn." "Well before I got drafted into this army by King George I was a carpenter by trade," said Josh. "There is a long line of carpenters in my family. Most of the buildings and houses in Triland were built by me and my family." "Nice, I am not that great at building things but I am good at taking them apart," said Penny. "Okay then you take stuff apart and I will put it back together again," said Josh. "That way I will never run out of work." Penny laughed. "Your funny," said Penny. "So you have a big family then." "Yep very big, said Josh. "Two brother's and three sisters plus tons of cousins. Jaydren is my younger brother. He is not a carpenter though. He took over our grandfather's orchard farm when he passed away. Unfortunately King George took that from him and made it his. I am so glad he is dead now. That man was a tyrant. Doesn't seem like anyone here is like him." "Nope everyone in Fae Land is like one happy family," said Penny. "So you have lots of friends then and family here then?" asked Josh. "Well not blood family but yes I know every elf here by name and we are all friends. I know all the sprites too." Wow you must have a good memory then but why no family?" asked Josh. "There is no single male elves in Fae Land," said Penny. "There hasn't been for over two hundred years." "So you are single and all those elves I have seen walking around are all single too," said Josh. "Yep but we make do," said Penny. "That is just not right, it is the opposite in Triland," said said Josh. "Lots of single guys but very few single girls, at least ones a man would like to make a family with." "Well eat up now, Ginger asked me to go pick up some boxies of candy from the candy factory for the palace," said Penny. "There is a candy factory here too! How does everyone stay in such good shape?" asked Josh. "The magic, it is everywhere, No one gets fat here or sick. After I get the candy for the palace I will take you to a place where the magic is strongest," said Penny. There you will feel it." "Feel what?" asked Josh. "The most wonderful feeling you have ever felt," said Penny. Back outside at the palace, Ginger was about to call for Fillina to see if she could take her to go pick up the order of friut she made from the South American orhard when she saw Safire running towards her. "Oh good, your outside, said Safire. I don't have to go looking for you in the palace." "Ya, but I was just about to go somewhere," said Ginger. "What are you doing here? I thought you were having a party." I am, I mean we are but Alieta wanted me to ask you to get me another bottle of champagne for us," said Safire. "What you all finshed both bottles already?" asked Ginger. "No, just one," said Safire. "You see when we finished the first bottle that didn't take that long seeing that four of us were drinking it plus Viridian and Ktara wanted to try a glass too, Ivy went back into the house to get the other bottle from out of the ice box," said Safire. "Okay that is good that she was keeping the second bottle cold," said Ginger. "Yep but she was taking a long time coming back out so I went to see what was taking her so long," said Safire. "Go on, I am listening," said Ginger. "Well just as I was about to go inside Ivy opened the door and I startled her making Ivy drop the bottle, that smashed on the front step. Man it made a loud sound when it exploded but looked really cool with pink foam spreading on the steps and ground until Viridian and Ktara cleaned it all up." "Okay accidents can happen," said Ginger. "So why didn't Ivy just fly here and get more. She knows where it is kept." "Well Ivy said she doesn't drink and fly and Alieta said the same thing," said Safire. Katilina would of taken too long but probably would of got lost seeing she had a good buzz going on, actually we all have a good buzz. That is good wine! So they elected me because I can run so fast. What a bunch," said Ginger. Well it sounds like everyone is having a good time." "Yep we sure are. Everybody has a funny story to tell plus Ivy is telling us all about her adventures when she was in Granada. Did you know she got shot in the arm by a guy trying to rob the place she was in." "Really, no I didn't, said Ginger. "Well she did but took care of the guy fast by pushing him down and sitting on him. She called for the other Sapphire and she healed Ivy's arm. Anyways, can you get me another bottle please?" "Yes of coarse. I better give you two just in case," said Ginger. "In case of what?" asked Safire. I case another bottle gets broken silly," said Ginger. "Oh ya, don't worry Viridian is in charge of the wine now," said Safire. "Now the candy factory is not that far away," said Penny. "Pretty close to my place and Sally's. We are neighbors and work the same hours at the palace so we hang out a lot, do our shopping together and stuff. We are kind of like sisters. She is younger than me though by about a hundred years." "A hundred years, how old are you?" asked Josh. "Well it is not polite to ask a girl her age but in Fae Land the magic makes it so people can live for a very long time," said Penny. "When we go to Eden you will feel it." "Okay that big building up ahead is the candy factory. I'll pop in fast and get the candy so we can get back deliver the candy then my I am done for the day. Then on to Eden." "So is this the Eden the same as they talk about in the bible?" asked Josh. "I don't think so, God calls it his new Eden," said Penny. "At least that is what Fillina said." Penny jumped off her horse then ran into the factory. "Well hello Penny, I haven't seen you in a while," said Jessica. "Anything new happening at the palace?" "Yep, we have visiters from Triland staying overnight," said Penny. "There is about thirty of them I think." "Wow that is quite a crowd," said Jessica. "So what can I get you?" "I need ten boxes of mixed candies, or was it twenty," said Penny. "Jeez why can't I remember what Ginger said." "You must have something on your mind," said Jessica. "I will get you twenty." Better more than not enough." "Okay, sounds good," said Penny. Jessica put the candy in a bag then handed it to Penny. "So tell me more about the people from Triland," said Jessica. "I can't right now I have Josh waiting for me outside then after we bring these back to the palace I am going to show him Eden," said Penny. "Josh, that is a boy's name," said Jessica. "Yes, he is one of the men from Triland. He is hanging out with me today," said Penny. Okay, so is he a human?" "Nope, an elf, a very handsome one too," said Penny. "Okay got to go." "Oh no you don't, not until I get a look at this handsome elf that you are taking to the most magical and romantic place in Fae Land," said Jessica. "Okay I guess," said Penny. They went outside and Penny asked Josh to come meet Jessica. Josh jumped off his horse and walked over. "This is Jessica, she owns this candy factory," said Penny. She makes the most amazing candies anywhere." Josh put out his hand and gave Jessica's hand a light shake. "It is very nice to meet you," said Josh. "A girl that makes sweets for a living must be very sweet herself." Jessica smiled. "Well it is nice to meet such a fine gentleman like yourself," said Jessica. "You take good care of my friend Penny. Now off you go, I will not take up any more of your time." Penny smiled at Jessica then they both got back on their horses and rode off. "Well would you look at that, Penny nabbed herself a man. No way she is going to let him go back to where ever Triland is. No wonder she couldn't rmember what Ginger told her. Hormones have clicked in big time!" They both rode back to the palace and Penny jumped off her horse. "Okay I will be right, back," said Penny. As she began to walk into the palace she met Safire heading out. "Hi Safire, did you see Ginger in here?" asked Penny. "Yep but she is gone now," said Safire. "Gone, where did she go?" asked Penny. "She left with Fillina to some place called South America," said Safire. "I got to go, everyone is waiting for me at Ivy's place. See you later." Then Safire ran off. "Man this is turning out to be a very unusual day," thought Penny. She put the bag of candy in the kitchen then came back out. "Okay we can go now," said Penny. "That Blue Fae Queen can really run fast," said Josh. "I have never seen anyone go that fast on foot." "Yep she is fast and very strong," said Penny. "She was going back to Ivy's place. Now I am free to do what ever I want. Come with me and I will show you where Eden is. Shouldn't take more than ten minutes to get to the west end. We have to go around those mountains." Okay, lead the way," said Josh. They rode to the end of the palace grounds then turned right. "Who lives in all those houses over there?" asked Josh. "That is the elf village," said Penny. "All the elves live there and most of the sprites too. The elven village is the biggest village of all. Just up a head is the town with all the stores in it. Some people live there also in apartments above the stores. Now hang a right with me and just past that big house is the begining of Eden. We will go on foot once we reach Eden. I come here with Sally a lot to take walks and smell all the flowers." "They past Mika and Layla's place then in a few minutes Penny stopped. "That is odd, I don't remember that big pink rock being there before, said Penny. Lets go check it out, there is something writen on it." "They both walked over to the pink rock. "Okay it is in elven," said Penny. "May the hand of God lead you to paradise. The hand of his child will show the way". "Okay that sounds very nice. I wonder what it means though," said Penny. Well maybe there is more around the back," said Josh. "This is like a riddle maybe. I don't think there is more but let me check," said Penny. She put her hand on the rock and leaned forward. Suddenly a very bright light came out of the gound making both of then turn their heads away. When light faded they looked at where there used to be just grass and bushes, was now a beautiful tunnel made of vines and flowers. "Well looks like we solved the riddle," said Josh. "This is definayely made by the hand of God and you being one of his children, touched the rock with your hand. Do you think we are supposed to walk through there?" Well It did say the hand of God would lead us to paridise," said Penny. "What do you think we should do?" "I say lets go for it," said Josh. It, doesn't look dangerous in there." "Ya it looks very pretty, said Penny. Okay lets do it." The two of them began to walk to the enterence of the tunnel and could now smell the strong aroma of flowers. I wonder what kind of flowers these are?" asked Penny. "I have never seen them before or have I smelled any flower with this kind of scent." "Must be some kind of tropical vines but there is nothing like these back home either," said Josh. "Well lets go in and see what is at the end of this tunnel." Josh took Penny's hand and they began to walk through the tunnel. When the got half way in they heard a sound and stopped. What is that buzzing sound?" asked Josh. "I hope it is not wasps, I don't like wasps. Bees I don't mind, you don't bother them and they won't bother you." "There are no insects in Fae Land," said Penny. "It sounds more like a humming sound. It might be coming from these long strings of flowers. Look they are all moving ever so slowly." Josh put his finger in his mouth then stuck it above his head. "Well there is not even a small breeze in here so they must be moving on their own," said Josh. "There are some plants in the tropics that if you touch a leaf it will close." "Well we are not touching them," said Penny. "I wonder what happens when they do get touch, said Josh. Let me try." He walked to the side of the tunnel and tried to grab a string of flowers but couldn't. They just kept moving out of the way of his hand. These are more than just vines with flowers," said Josh. "They are alive and don't like to be touched." "Well just looking at them and smelling their scent is good enough for me," said Penny. "The magic is begining to get much stronger now. I can feel it." "Ya I feel it now too," said Josh. "There doesn't seem to be anything different at the end of this tunnel though. Just grass, bushes and rocks like at the begining." "Well only one way to find out, said Penny. Lets keep going." They both walked though the rest of the tunnel that seemed to be almost singing to them. When they stepped out of the tunnel, Penny looked around. "Well this is very pretty out here," said Josh. "I wouldn't call it paridise but it is nice." "Yes but this is all different," said Penny. "None of this was here before. Not these plants or rocks, even the horizon is different. This is definately not the Eden I know." "Really, so the Eden you know is better than this?" asked Josh. "Well not better, much different. We should be able to see Carmen and Zatsuky's house from here but no sight of it. Everything is even greener here for as far as my eyes can see," said Penny. "Interesting, did your Eden have a path like that over there?" asked Josh. Penny looked to her right and saw a long stone path. "No it didn't," said Penny. "Well lets follow the path then," said Josh. "The rock said that the tunnel will show us the way to paridise not bring us right to it. Looks like we have to do a bit of work first." Penny smiled at him. "You are really enjoying this, aren't you," said Penny. "Of coarse, I am with a beautiful girl showing me things I have never even dreamed about. We are surrounded by magic that seems to be giving me energy and we are on an adventure together. Life doesn't get better than this! I haven't had this much fun ever." "Your right, this is a lot of fun," said Penny. "Okay, lets continue on our adventure and see where the stone path takes us." They both followed the stone path for what seemed like an hour. During that time Penny told Josh about some of her adventures and that she used to be an archer in the army during the wars plus when Jazmen promoted her to captain of the land troops. "Okay that makes sense now," said Josh. "Most girls I know would be super scared after seeing the tunnel appear and the moving vines but you seem to have no fear. Army life toughened you up." "Well I wouldn't say I am fearless," said Penny. "I just react differently then most people to scary things. I found that turning and running from someone or something is not the best plan. Turning your back to danger leaves one defenseless and blind to the damger. Best to stand your ground at first, look for your optiions, then make a move. Sometimes you have no option to run for the hills though, especially when dealing with flesh eating creatures. As for being tough I can say that for an elf I am very strong. Not as strong as Ginger but nobody will mess with me, neither man or woman." "So you think you are stronger than me then?" asked Josh. "Being a carpenter makes me very strong." "Well do you want to find out with a simple hand squeeze?" asked Penny. "When you have had enough just say uncle." "You seem sure you can beat me, sure I am game but it won't be me saying uncle," said Josh. "Josh put out his hand and Penny took hold of it. They both began to squeeze but Penny could tell that Josh was holding back. "Come on give me all you got," said Penny. "Really, okay then," said Josh. He squeezed his hardest and Penny still wasn't saying uncle. Then Penny tighten her grid more. "Holy crap, uncle, uncle," said Josh. Penny let go of his hand. "Man you are like a super girl," said Josh. "Well you have only been in Fae Land for less than a day and the magic is just starting to effect you," said Penny. "I have lived in Fae Land all my life surrounded by the magic. I do like the super girl thing though." "Okay so the longer a person is here makes that person stronger?" asked Josh. "Yep and many more things," said Penny. Up ahead they saw what looked like an oasis in a field that the path was heading straight for. "Looks like that is out next stop," said Josh. "I'll race you there," then he took off. Penny smiled then ran after him making sure not to pass him. "Now this is begining to look like paradise," said Josh. "Trees and flowers plus a stream. I could use a drink, the water looks clean." He walked into the narrow stream then crouched down and cupped some water in his hands and drank. "Very good water, come and have some Penny. Water feels good on the feet too." Penny joined him in the stream. Josh walked around the corner of the stream and saw that it ended with no run off. "That is odd , what is keeping this water fresh if it isn't coming from somewhere and not going anywhere?" asked Josh. "Must be the magic," said Penny but even Sandy Lake has the waterfall then the water runs off in a small river." Josh walk towards the end of the stream to see if there was an undergound run off but as he got close to the end the stream got longer. "Hey check this out Penny. The stream just got longer," said Josh. "What do you mean?" asked Penny. "Watch as I move towards the end," said Josh. As he moved closer the end of the stream it moved away again but this time a lot furher. "This place is awesome, it's like we are playing a game to find paradise," said Josh. "I bet we have to walk in the water and follow this stream now." "Well so far you have been right so lets do it then," said Penny. "At least now my feet will feel better in water for a while." The stream was narrow so Penny had to walk behind Josh. They were walking in the water for quite some time now but they were passing the time by talking. Josh kept moving forward and the stream kept moving away from him but now it took a bit of a turn to the left. A few minutes passed then suddenly the stream stopped moving foward. "Looks like the end of the line," said Josh. "I don't see anything. "Wait, over there, it's another pink rock." They both ran over to it. Written on it in elven was "Welcome To New Eden. Here you can find your paradise." "Okay, another riddle?" asked Josh. "Maybe not," said Penny. "You touch the rock with your hand this time." "Josh leaned forward and put his hand on the rock. Once again a very bright light rose from the ground and when it went out they saw an amazing scene with trees and flowers everywhere. There was a Bridge that lead to another section of plants and trees plus a round pond. Then they saw someone move behind a bush. "Hello sir, are you okay?" asked Penny. The big man stood up from behind the bush then looked at Penny. "Yes my child, I was just planting a few more plants. I don't usually get my hands dirty but this is kind of fun getting close to the ground, digging a small hole then dropping in a seed and covering it up with soil. I can see how Ivy takes please doing this," said the man. "Okay so who are you?" asked Penny. "Well right now I am the care taked of New Eden Penny. My helper is around somewhere doing something that I am sure will look wonderful," said the man. "How did he know your name?" asked Josh to Penny. "Just like I know your name Josh. I know all my children's names," said the man. "Your not an elf, we can't be your children," said Josh. "Besides, my parrents are back in Triland. "Yes, Triland, a place of big change. It will take awhile but the magic will spread there too," said the man. Penny began to smile and saw Josh was about to say something but put her hand over his mouth. "Your helper, her name wouldn't happen to be Fillina?" asked Penny. "Yes it is, such a wonderful girl and so loving. I don't know what I would of done with out her help over all this time," said the man. "Your no care taker, said Jenny. Your God the creator." Are you sure Penny?" asked God. "Yep one hundred percent," said Penny. "I can feel you in me and it is so strong now plus Fillina told me lots about you." God smiled at Penny. "Josh how did you like my little game I set up. I got the idea from you," said God. "What do you mean?" asked Josh that was not quite sure what was happening. "Well you love games and solving riddles," said God. You have never been in a real adventure before so this was the best way for me to meet you two instead of me just showing up out of nowhere. What do you two think the last riddle means? "Well something about making our own paradise," said Josh. "This place looks really nice but I wouldn't call it paradise." Yes, the kind of paradise people think of is mostly being on a sandy beach in the tropics but many people think of paradise to be something else, each with their own verson of paradise, said God. "Here I have created several areas where some one can go and relax and enjoy themself. They are not quite finished yet but won't be too long from now if I can manage to make it work here on the surface. That type of paradise can only be found in heaven but trying new things is what I love doing. Now you two have been in here for about three hours after passing through the tunnel which was Fillina's doing. Such a created girl she is. Time in this realm moves much slower than what you two are used to." "Okay so how much time has passed in Fae Land?" asked Penny. "A little over two days," said God. "Two days! I have missed work and Sally is going to be worried sick about me," said Penny. "Yes I know," said God. "You see, people need to be reminded at how much they love you and not just the person that can do things for them without questions. People will expect things from a person without concidering what they want to do. Like Ginger, she gets you to do stuff that she can do herself." "Ya but she is my boss," said Penny. "No she isn't, Ginger has you working in the palace because you are good at doing things without being told. You have know Ginger for a very long time and you are one of her close friends along with a few of the other elves that you also know, her love for you took a bit of a turn to taking advantage of you but not anymore. She has been out searching for you ever since you went missing. So has Sally and Jaydren plus Ivy. Ivy's love never gets lazy and she will not stop searching for you because she can sense your essence very faintly. She has every pixie searching at night and the entire winged army searching during the day. You Josh are staying here In Fae Land. Katilina is already gone with the troops and almost home. Now it is time for you two to go back before Alieta starts sending out all the ground troups to find you two also." "Really that many people are looking for me?" asked Penny. "Well of course," said God. It is the same as if Sally went missing that makes so many people happy with her cooking or Ginger, Jazmen, the sisters Jessica the candy lady and the list goes on. You all are family and the love of a family is the stongest of all. Now don't tell anyone the answers to the riddles. Let them find the rock and figure it out them selves but it won't work until we are finished in here for now. If I can't make this New Eden realm work then I will leave Fillina's tunnel there for people to enjoy. I'll give you a bit of help and send you back to the first pink rock. With that suddenly they appeared where they started. "Well oviously our horses are not still waiting for us," said Penny. "Looks like we are walking." "Well I will carry you if you want," said Josh. "No I can walk," said Penny. "That's right, your my super girl," said Josh with a smile. Ginger was outside talking to Alieta before setting out to search some more for Penny and Josh. "Your going out again?" asked Alieta. "You were out almost all night and you have only had a few hours of sleep. Let the search teams do their job and you rest some more first." "Nope, I can't sleep another wink," said Ginger. "So long as Ivy say's she can sense Penny, even if it is very faint, I will not stop looking." "Well we are running out of places to look," said Alieta. "Every inch of Eden has been searched. Ktara was able to find their tracks but the tracks just vanished. Ivy has Pippa sending out pixies every night. She got Jazmen to take the entire winged army to Cumberland and search there and now she has them searching the North East Province. Ivy is with Sara searching all of Paxon with Pegasus and Safire on Casper as we speak." "Well I can't just sit here and do nothing," said Ginger. "I feel that I am partly responsible for this happening, some how." "This is not your fault Ginger," said Alieta. "I know it is not my fault, I just feel bad inside for taking advantage of Penny for so long," said Ginger. "You know I brought her into the palace to help out. She doesn't need any guidence as to what needs to be done. She just went out on her own and did her thing." "Well yes, and she is really good at doing new stuff here," said Alieta. "Well not for a while," said Ginger. "I have been giving her things to do like I do with the other elves. I am not her boss and I had no business telling her what to do. She is her own boss. I even offered to give her a couple elves to help her but she said no, she likes to work alone." Okay I was unaware this was happening," said Alieta. "Yep, stupid me took advantage of the best hard working elf in Fae Land. "I should be punished for doing that," said Ginger. "I would say you are doing a good job of punishing yourself," said Alieta. "Okay then if you are going out again, I am going with you. Lets go get our horses." Continued...
