The Surprise Visit

 Mother nature was doing her job with the weather orb when Gabriel appeared behind her. It was nice to see you doing your job Mother Nature, said Gabriel. She turned around from the orb quickly and said,"Gabriel you startled me."Wow what can I do for you? "Well a nice hello and how are you doing would be nice", said Gabriel. Yes of course that goes with out saying. Does God know you are here? asked Mother Nature. Yes and he actually sent me down here and made me in charge of blessing the good people of the world and being at bit of a guardian angel of sorts to those that deserve and need my help, said Gabriel. It will be so nice having you on earth helping people, said Mother Nature. Well I am not allowed to effect free will, said Gabriel or interfere with what ever happens on the surface but yes it is going to be a good change for me. Oh, well that makes sense, said Mother Nature. So are you about finished there? asked Gabriel. Just one more thing, there I am done, said Mother Nature. Can we go down stairs to your kitchen and sit and talk, I would love to taste what that cup of tea that every one has down here is all about. Sure, follow me, said Mother Nature. They went down stairs and Gabiel sat at the table. Then Mother Nature made them both a cup of tea. Gabriel tasted it and said, wow this is wonderful! Have you never drank a cup of tea before? asked Mother Nature. I have never drank anything or eaten anything before, replied Gabriel. Really, said Mother Nature. Why is that? There is no need for it in heaven said Gabriel. Well you are in for a real treat, I have some left overs in the ice box that I am sure you will love. Mother Nature went to the ice box and took out a bowl and put it in a pan then placed it on the wood stove. She kept turning it as Gabriel watched then said, it smells wonderful. Mother Nature made up two plates and gave Gabriel a fork then they both sat down at the table. Gabriel took her first taste of food and her eyes opened wide and said this tastes amazing, what do you call it. It is called spaghetti, said Mother Nature. That is a weird name. Yes it is but it is an Italian staple but is now eaten all over the world. So how come you don't remember how things tasted when you were mortal? asked Mother Nature. Oh she said, I was never mortal, God created me as his first angel. This is the first time he let me come down here to stay, Gabriel replied.

  They finshed their dinner then moved into the sitting room. You sit on that couch, It won't bother your wings, said Mother Nature. I use it to lay on when I am reading. My you have a lot of books, you must do a lot of reading, said Gabriel. Well they are all science books, said Mother nature. Geography of different regions around the world. Weather currents and physisics, stuff like that. Really, I didn't think those kind of books were available here, said Gabriel. There arn't, I got them fron that parralel reality, said Mother Nature. I may not be able to teleport like you all over the world but I can teleport to the reality directly above us ehre things are so much more advanced. These books are teaching me all about the weather and nature. Bassicly I need to know why things are the way they are. That is another reason I keep this place hidden from everyone, This reality is not ready for the sciece in those books. Well I am glad you have taken a full interest in your work, said Gabriel. So have met Alexa's new friend Angus yet? Yes I did and he is amazing animal, said Mother Nature. Yes he is and I blessed him too today so he will be one of the only animals on earth with a soul. Other than unicorns and a few other special animals God created like Pegasus. Really, so Pegasus is real? asked Mother Nature. Yep, he is with Hercules right now, said Gabriel. Okay, so that means Hercules is real too. Yes there are a lot of magical beings that people consider myths or fairy tales but most of the time there is some truth to these tales, said Gabriel. Many people don't beleive in elves, pixies, sprites and fairies but as you know they are all real. Fairies too? asked Mother Nature. Yep but they are well hidden at this time, said Gabriel. So I heard you helped save Alexa's life a while back. Yes that was a very scary for everyone, said Mother Nature. Alexa kills the wizard so I can get the orb back and she almost dies in the process. You know, we could of used your help when Alexa almost died, said Mother Nature. I saw her but I am not allowed to interfere, said Gabriel. That kind of stuff is up to only God. Besides there was no way he would let Alexa die, she is too special to him. Well that is good to hear, said Mother Nature.

Back at the palace Alexa was getting ready to go back home and Angus now smelt great. The two elfs told Alexa to bring him back every two weeks and we will keep him smelling nice. They waved goodbye and started back home. Once again they met the two trolls in the field but this time they hesitated to come closer. Alexa got off her horse and told Angus that these two were friends of mine also. She walked over to them and they looked very nervous but stood their ground. Alexa told them that I want you to meet my new friend. His name is Angus. They both said hi Angus nervously. The male troll Trog said look how big he is, he is bigger than me. Don't worry, he will not bite you, said Alexa. Okay if you say so, said Trog. The female troll Fabby told her husband to stop being such a chicken. Fabby asked if she could pet him. Yes of course, Angus love being petted. She bent over and started to pet him and said he smells nice too. How about you, you want to pet him, asked Alexa? Ah maybe next time, said Trog. Okay then and Alexa went back to her horse and started back home with Diego. Your just a big coward, said Fabby and slapped him on the back of the neck. Hey nothing wrong with being careful, said Trog. Careful my butt, said Fabby.

 They headed out to Taiyo and Oaklyn's place and when they got there, there was no one home. Oh well maybe next time, said Diego. Next they headed out to Ktara's place to see if she was home and when they arrived they saw the rest of the team were all there. Taiyo and Oaklyn ran out to greet them. Angus got behind Alexa's horse and started to whimper. Hold it you two. Remember wolves are afraid of centaurs, said Alexa. Oh ya we forgot, said Oaklyn. Alexa and Diego got off their horses and told Angus that they were friends and are part of our team. Angus came out from behind the horse. He seems to understand you. Yep he does. Can we pet him? Sure. Oaklyn bent over and gave him a few pats then Taiyo did the same. They started towards the rest of the team that looked a bit nervous. So does he only understands you? asked Oaklyn. I think so lets see, said Alexa. They walked up to the group and Oaklyn told Angus that these are all our friends and we have all been on many adventures together. Angus did his tail wanging thing again. Looks like it, said Alexa. I have never seen a wolf wag his tail before, nor have I seen such a big one. Everyone smiled and approched Angus and introduced themselves to him. You sure have a way with making friends Alexa and now a wolf, said Tempressa! They all sat down on the grass and Alexa told them all how they met while Colin was playing with Angus. She then told them that they met Gabriel, the angel that made Snowflake into Mother Nature. She blessed him too. Tempressa said, "Do you know what that means". No, said Alexa. She gave him a soul just like us. He must be the only animal on the planet with a soul. Wow, I did not know that, said Alexa. Well Alieta agrees he should be part of our team and he will come in very handy. He can run faster than a horse and can jump higher than Safire, said Alexa. Your kidding they all said at once. Can he run faster than a centaur? asked Oaklyn. Centaurs are much faster than horses. I don't know, said Alexa. Why don't you find out. Okay lets see then, said Oaklyn. Angus lets have a race to that big tree over there and see who gets there first but wait until someone says go. They both go side by side then Alexa yelled GO! Oaklyn started to run but Angus stayed still for a moment then suddenly it seemed like he vanished. They all looked at the big tree and Angus was just sitting there waiting for Oaklyn. When she reached him Angus got up on his hind legs and began licking Oaklyn on the face. Hey stop that, it tickles, said Oaklyn. They both went back to everyone. That is the fastest moving animal I have ever seen, said Oaklyn. Actually I barely saw him pass me. Good boy Angus, said Colin. Next time let my Mom win, she doesn't like to lose. Everyone started to laugh. Yep Angus will be a great addition to our team, said Tempressa.

Alexa said they had to get heading home now and feed Angus. So what does he eat asked Paisley. Just dog food but the good stuff, said Diego. I am not sure how much he eats per day yet but we will find out soon enough. That is so cool. Can I pat him before you leave? asked Paisley Sure go ahead. She bent over and started patting him and said my he smells nice. Yes the elves gave him a good washing and they want him to come back every two weeks for a wash and grooming, said Alexa. Wow, talk about getting the special treatment, said Paisley. Alexa and Diego got back on their horses and headed back home. They were almost home when Angus stopped and appeared to be listening at something. Then he took off into the woods and shortly came out with a big fat turkey in his mouth then dropped it on the ground. Well look at that, said Diego. He must of read your mind seeing you originally went out to hunt for a turkey. No I don't think so, he heard me say that it was better to make a new friend then getting a turkey to eat for Christmas, said Alexa. Then he has a very good memory, said Diego. Diego took the turkey and soon they were home again.

So I suppose he should sleep inside, said Diego. Yes and what about you plucking the feathers off the turkey before you come in, said Alexa. Diego smiled and got to work. Alexa brought Angus inside and he looked a bit confused at first. I suppose he has never been in a house before, thought Alexa. He then layed down on the carpet and waited for Diego to come in. When Diego entered he saw Angus laying down. Well he looks okay to be inside, said Diego.Yep, he seems to like that carpet, said Alexa. Time for some supper for all of us. Alexa put the turkey in the ice box then poured the rest of the dog food into a bowl and Angus dug in. I suppose he worked up a big appitite after all that went on today, said Alexa. The two of them sat and had some supper then soon after they were ready for bed and, said good night to Angus. He just turned around and layed down beside the front door with his back against it. Well no one is getting in that door tonight wile we are sleeping, said  Diego.
