A Very Special Friend

Prolog

 Everyone was doing great and it has been a long time since the team needed to go on any quests. Oaklyn and Taiyo's son Colin was growing fast and Ktara was loving her big kitchen and having dinner parties a lot and got to be known as the best cook in Fae Land. It was getting close to Christmas so everyone will be out shopping and hunting for wild turkeys soon. Alexa wanted to get a head start on every one so she decided to go out and hunt for one alone. She figured if she could put it in the ice box and got Tempressa to keep it frozen it would be good for when it was time to cook it. Tempress was shopping around for new clothes and even got a beauty salon to put makeup on her but when she got home, she didn't like it and washed it off. More elves and humans were moving to Fae Land as word got out that this was the best and safest place to live. Alieta got word that even the pixie population had doubled in the woods. Things were pretty normal every where in Fae Land...

The New Friend

 Alexa set out to the woods to look for a turkey by herself. Diego told her to use his bow and arrow but she was not that great hitting a target and figured she had a better chance with her sword, plus it was more of a challenge plus fair to the turkey. She wandered around quietly but did not see one yet. She then saw one picking at the grown and began to sneak up on it but then she heard what sounded like whimpering near by. She slowly walked over to where the sound was coming from and hid behind a bush where she saw a very big wolf stuck and hurt by a large fallen tree. She didn't know there were wolves in these woods, especially one so huge. She decided to get closer and see what the wolf would do but she had her sword ready just in case. As she got nearer the wolf just looked up at her with sad eyes. A big heavy tree branch had fallen on him and had him pinned pretty good and there was a bit of blood on his back. It didn't look like any bones were broken so she decided to cut the branch off him. She gave it a good slice then pulled the branch off him and jumped back fast then raised her sword. The wolf stopped whimpering but didn't move. She could see his tail wagging very fast which meant he was happy she figured. Could this be a friendly wolf she thought to herself. She got closer and the tail kept wagging. The wolf then sat up and raised a big paw as if for her to shake. Hmm, she had never seen a wolf act like this before so she slowly extended her hand out and shook the paw a few times. Alexa was in awe and stood up and so did the wolf. She backed up a bit and the wolf followed her. She told him that you are free now so you can go home. The wolf did not move and the tail was still wagging. Well if Mother Nature can have pet dragons then why can't I have a pet wolf. Would you like to come home with me and have something to eat? asked Alexa. The wolf's eyes opened wide with excitement. It was ovious he could not talk but seemed to understand everything she said. She turned and started to walk back to her place and the wolf came up to her side and walked with her. Alexa felt very safe with this big wolf by her side that probably was twice her weight so she put away her sword. I may not of gotten a turkey but I did get a brand new friend, said Alexa.

When they got to the town she had to pass a bunch of houses and when they saw her with this big wolf they fled inside and shut their doors tight. Don't mind them, said Alexa. They just need some time to get to know you. The wolf looked up at her and seemed to smile which put a smile on Alexa's face also. When she got home she went straight to the back yard and yelled for Diego to come out and see who she found. He came out and a look of shock came over his face. Have you gone nuts Alexa. That is a huge wild wolf, said Diego. Wolves are vicious and will attack people even when they are not hungry. Alexa gave him a dirty look. Well he is friendly and hasn't hurt me. I saved him while he was pinned down in the woods by a fallen tree, said Alexa. Come over here and see for your self. She turned to the wolf and said that he is a very good friend of mine. Like he is going to understand what you just said, said Diego. I am pretty sure he does, said Alexa. Diego slowly got closer and the wolf began to wag his tail again. Hmm, he does look friendly, said Diego. Put out your hand and see if he will lick it, said Alexa. What! Do you think I am crazy, I need my hand, said Diego. He won't bite you, watch, said Alexa. She put out her hand and the wolf licked it. See, I told you not even a nibble, said Alexa. There now you do the same. Alexa gave him that dirty look again so he figured he better do what she said. He slowly extended the back of his hand then the wolf gave it a nice wet lick. Wow, he must like me too, said Diego. I told you so, said Alexa. Okay so what are we going to do with him? asked Diego. Well he can be our pet and can be very useful on any new quests we go on, said Alexa. Maybe he would, said Diego but he is wild and must hunt to eat. Well maybe he will like very dog food, said Alexa, They there are no dogs in Fae Land but there is in Cumberland, said Alexa. They must sell dog food in a pet store there. Okay we will give it a try, said Diego. Good now you go get a big bag but make sure it is the good stuff and not the cheep stinky kind, said Alexa. Without another word Diego went off to get his horse while scratching his head. Now in the mean time I will give you the left over stew in the ice box, said Alexa. 

Alexa went in the house and grabbed the bowl of stew out of the ice box then came back out. The wolf was just sitting there waiting for her. Your such a good boy not wandering off at all, said Alexa. Now I didn't warm this up but I bet you won't care about that. She put it down on the ground infront of hih and immediately he started eatting the stew very fast. Wow you were hungry, said Alexa. Well that is going to have to do for now until Diego comes back. Alexa knelt down beside him and started to pat his head. He oviously liked it. She just had to show Alieta some how. She had never called for Mother Nature before but it was worth a try, she can bring Alieta here fast. Mother Nature she called out, can you come and see my new friend if you are not busy. In a few moments she appeared and said I am never too busy for you Alexa. She looked at the wolf as Alexa was knelt down beside him, still petting his head. She smiled at the wolf and the wolf seemed to smile back at her too. Well you have quite the treasure there Alexa, said Mother Nature. These very large Titan wolves are can be very fierce and dangerous from what I heard but this one seems to be the opposite. How did you find him? she asked. He was in the woods and stuck under a big tree so I helped free him and the rest is history, said Alexa. Mother Nature saw the blood on his back so she bent over and froze the wound so that when it thawed it would heal properly. The wolf then licked her hand as she moved it away. Well he is certaily the most friendliest wolf I have ever seen, said Mother Nature. Let me give him a pat, I have never patted a wolf before or even been this close to one either. She got down on the ground then began to pet the wolf and it layed down then rolled on it's back. Oh so you want your tummy rubbed, said Mother Nature. This is one very special wolf you have here Alexa. 

Diego returned with the dog food and saw Mother Nature knelt down beside the wolf also. Hi Mother Nature, I see you have met our new friend. I bought some good dog food to see if he will eat it. How did you get back here so fast? asked Alexa. I went to the pet supply store in town here first just to check and they have small bags of dog food there but not much, said Diego. If he likes this food then they will start stocking the big bags of it for me. I figured we should check first. He dumped most of it in the empty bowl on the ground from the stew and the wolf dug in and ate it all. Well there you go. This wolf will not have to hunt for supper anymore as long as you keep him well fed, said Mother Nature. Alexa turned to her and said I just got to show Alieta, can you go get her for me please. Sure, it will be funny to see the look on her face. She stood up and disappeared.

Mother Nature appear in front of Alieta and asked if she was busy. Not really she said. Well Alexa wants you to meet a new friend she met and she is really excited too. Okay, said Alieta, a friend of her's is a friend of mine. With that she teleported them both to Alexa's backyard where they both saw Alexa and Diego playing catch with the wolf. "OH MY GOD" Alieta exclaimed, what is going on here. Look at the size of that wolf! said Alieta. The wolf got up and walked towards Alieta and she tried to back up but Mother Nature put a hand on her back and stopped her, Don't worry, trust me, said Mother Nature. The wolf walked right up in front of her then sat down and extended a paw to her. Go ahead, said Mother Nature, shake his paw. I just finished rubbing his belly. Really, okay, said Alieta. She shook the wolf's paw and said,"Do you see the size of his paw compaired to my hand? Well I have never thought I would be shaking a wolf's paw before", said Alieta. Well wait until you see this said Alexa.

Alexa took the ball and threw it high into the air and the wolf jumped up over three times the height of Deigo and caught it in it's mouth. Wow that was amazing. Not only Safire could jump that high. So what is his name, have you given him one yet? asked Alieta. I was thinking that Angus would be a very nice name for such a strong wolf. Angus started to wag his tail again. Looks like he likes it, Angus it is then, said Alieta. I see he likes dog food so that is another good thing.
 I think Angus will be a great addition to the team sometimes, said Alexa. You may be right there if you can train him, said Alieta. I don't have to, he understands everything we say, said Alexa. I have to go and tell Safire about this or maybe we will surprise her like you did to me, said Alieta. They all smiled and she asked Mother Nature to bring her back to the palace and she would send one of her elves down to Safire and tell her I needed her help. That will give the two of you time to ride to the palace and see if Angus will follow you, said Alieta. Mother Nature grabbed her arm as they waved good bye to Angus then vanished.
