The Sick Tree

In the moring they took turns freshing up then checked outside of the bedroom door and as they elf told them there was two tops and shorts laying on the floor. One set was oviously for Phonixa and the other for Repellia. Both shorts were the same style excet the belts were different colour and same for the tank tops. Boy these elves know how to pick out clothes for us already, said Phonixa. They quickly got dressed and looked at themselves in the mirror. It's been a long time since we looked sexy like this, said Repellia. Ya we better be extra good because I definately don't want to go anywhere else for a while, said Phonixa. A knock came on the door and Phonixa answered it. Hello, my name is Penny, do you like the clothes I picked out for you two? You bet, we look awesome! said Repellia. Yes you both sure do, now Alieta is down stairs in the dining room waiting for you two. Are you ready for breakfast? asked Penny. Yep, we will work you know to pay our way, said Repellia. Well that is nice to know but for now just get use to what goes on in and outside of the palace. Things can get pretty wild here, said Penny. Wild how? asked Phonixa. Well let me just say there is never a dull day at the palace, said Penny. Okay follow me please. Now the dining room opens at six in the morning and closes ay ten at night but if you get hungry in the middle of the night the door has no lock on it so just go in and raid the ice box in the kitchen. There is always left overs and plenty of ice cream. This room is the wardrobe room where we keep all the clothes for who ever needs them. Can we look in there, asked Repellia. Sure, said Penny as she opened the door. Wow there is a lot of clothes in here, said Phonixa. Ya there sure is just a bit messy though, said Repellia. Well us elves clean things up from time to time in here but we are pretty busy doing other things for Ginger most of the time, said Penny. Okay lets go, Alieta is waiting.

Here we are, now just go in and take a seat at the table, said Penny. Alieta always sits at the head of the table. No one sits there even when she is not in the kitchen. Good luck and enjoy, said Penny then left. Why did she say good luck? asked Repellia. I don't know, lets just get in there, the smell of bacon is driving me crazy, said Phonixa. They both walked in and saw Alieta sitting at the table. There you two are. My don't you two look very pretty, said Alieta. Ya we feel much better now too, said Phonixa. Good, have a seat, I already ordered the breakfast for us so it should be here soon, said Alieta. Now the first thing I want to ask you both is how can we all here tell which one of you is Phonixa and which is Repellia short of giving you name tags to wear? They both smiled. Well Phonixa loves the colour red and always wears something that is red, said Repellia. I like blue the best but I will wear any colour. Okay, that will work, said Alieta. Oh I always have my finger and toe nails painted red but Repellia will have hers blue or all different colours, said Phonixa. Sometimes she can't decide so she just uses all the colours that we have. Very good, I suppose you two have played twin tricks on people when you were yonger, said Alieta. Even your voices are the same. Well ya, that is the fun of having a twin sister, said Phonixa. We don't do it a lot though. Okay, now you may have noticed that the elves are being extra nice and friendly with you two, Have you guessed why? asked Alieta. We just thought they were naturally friendly like everyone else here, said Repellia. That is true but you see, there are now twins in Fae Land, said Alieta. Elves can look similar to humans but elves can tell the differences easily. With you two they have no clue which is which hence why Penny gave you different coloured clothes. You are very unique and special to them and don't want you to leave. That said, how would you two like to become permenant residences of the palace? You want us to stay here? We were wanting too also but figured we would be extra good so that you don't get kickus out, said Repellia. Kick you out, no I would never do that to you, said Alieta. You are still teenagers and it is expected that you may do something wrong at times but there is a lot for you two to learn as your grow up other than how to survive in the wilderness which was very impressive. Just then Sally came out with their breakfast. Did they tell you yet, asked Sally. They haven't answered me yet, said Alieta. Sally looked at them both in waiting. Of coarse we will stay, who wouldn't, said Repellia. Yea! wait until I tell the rest of the elves, said Sally then ran back into the kitchen. You see, already you made a lot of people happy by just saying yes, said Alieta. Now eat up, then lets go outside and see what today may have in store for us.

That morning at Alexa's place she did their regular morning stuff to get the day started with Diego. So what did you think of those two girls at the party, asked Diego. They seemed to be okay. Ivy liked them and even walked with them to the palace, said Alexa. Well Ivy is very unique, said Diego. She dsays stuff that we fine very helpful or funny and she dosn't even now she is doing it. Don't under estimate her, she is very smart and always says the the things we need to know when we need to know it and she does it in a funny way, said Alexa. If Ivy likes those two twins then there is a very good reason for it. Now today I am bringing Angus and Sivia to the palace for their bi monthly shampooing. Do you want to come, asked Alexa. No, I think I will go over to Titus's place and hang out with him until you get back, said Diego. Okay then see you later on then. Angus, Sivia, time to get washed again at the palace. Both of them jumped up and waited for Alexa to open the front door. Well they are excited, said Alexa. Alexa opened the door and before she could say a word they both took off and were out of sight in seconds. The two of them will be there before I even get on my horse, Alexa thought to herself. Alexa started on her way and went past Ktara's place then saw Ivy outside of her place. She rode over to see what she was doing. Hi Ivy, what are you doing there in the garden. Hi Alexa. I am talking to the flowers. They like it when someone talks to them especially me, said Ivy. Alexa smiled. Really talking to plants makes them like you? asked Alexa. Yep, they like music too, said Ivy. These ones are growing a new buds so I am telling it that they will be beautiful very soon. Little buds like that will take a few days to bloom, said Alexa. Nope, you will see, said Ivy. So where are you going? It is time for Angus and Sivia to get a shampooing. They are already there though, said Alexa. Oh can I come and help? asked Ivy. Well I don't know Ivy. The elves really look forward to cleaning the two of them but maybe they will let you help. No I think I should not if they like doing it then. I would just be butting in on their fun, said Ivy. Well you can come with me and see how Phonixa and Repellia is doing, said Alexa. Okay, that would be nice too. I like them plus they are close to my age, said Ivy. Let me ask if Viridian wants to go too. Meet you there and Ivy ran inside but told the flower she will be back later. Ivy went in and found Viridian on the couch reading one of the cook books. Hi Viridian. Do you want to come to the palace with Alexa and me, asked Ivy. No, I think I will keep reading these books. I have to learn how to cook better for the two of us but you go ahead, said Viridian. Okay, she said and off Ivy went.

Alexa saw Ivy up high in the sky and passed her very quickly. She must of had chocolate again she thought to herself. Wish I could grow wings. Then she giggled. No that would be awkward for sleeping. When she got to the palace she saw the elves washing Angus and Sivia and Ivy talking to Alieta in front of the palace. Alexa rode up and got off her horse. An elf took it away to the stable for her. So what is going on? asked Alexa. Well Phonixa and Repellia are inside telling a few of the elves how they want their room redecorated, said Alieta Then they are coming out here so I can shoe them how the sundial works. So does that mean they are going to be staying in Fae Land? asked Alexa. Yep, they are going to be staying in my old room in the palace, said Ivy. Oh here they come now, said Alieta. Come over here girls. Have a look at the sun dial. What does it do asked, Repellia. It tells the time of day with the sun, said Alieta. How, asked Phonixa. Well you see where the shadow is pointing at on that dial. Yes it is pointing at the number ten almost, said Repellia. Well that means it is almost ten o'clock, said Alieta. Now that is cool, said Phonixa. So you two look great in those new clothes, said Ivy. Do you two want to come and play with me in the woods with Pippa? Well maybe but Alieta may have something for us to do for her. We have to pay for that great breakfast somehow. Alexa looked at Alieta and then Alieta said you never have to work for the food you eat in the palace. That is one of cool perks when living in the palace. Oh, so that is different. Even our parrents made us do chores before we could sit down to have dinner with them, said Phonixa. Well not here, said Alieta. So we can go and find Pippa and do something together? asked Repellia. Yes you can, said Alieta but first can I tell Alexa a bit about the story you told me last night or do you want that to stay between us three. You can tell Alexa. She should know about new people here anyways but not anyone else, said Phonixa. We don't want to be pittied. Okay off you all go to the west woods. That is where Pippa hangs out, said Alieta. Off they went with Ivy just chatting away with them. You know I found Ivy this morning on the ground talking to flowers that were starting to bud. A bit strange don't you think, said Alexa. Oh not at all, said Alieta. She is a forest sprite and the only one in Fae Land. She can talk to the plants and they listen. Now they don't talk back or anything like that but I think it has to do with the way she talks to them. Very soft and soothing. There is something magical with forest sprites and the plant life around them. That is why the pixies put up with Ivy while she was being naughty with them in the begining. They know that just her being around helps things grow, said Alieta. I did not know that. So she is like the Mother Nature of plants in a way, asked Alexa. Well sort of but Mother nature takes care of the entire planet and not just plants and trees. Forest sprite kind of help out some. You know this morning I told Diego that Ivy is pretty smart and does things just at the right moments, said Alexa. Oh yes she is very smart and will be smarter than most of the people here in Fae Land once she has fully developed, said Alieta. Ivy loves to play but also loves learning new things. Later I am going to show her the library in the palace. There she can learn things a lot faster.

In a few minutes Phonixa came running out of the woods yelling. Something is wrong with Ivy. What? asked Alieta. I don't know, she is acting crazy, said Phonixa. Alieta got there a bit before Alexa and saw Ivy hugging a tree that was not that old but was looking ill and loosing its leaves. She is saying something to the tree but I don't understand what she is saying, said Phonixa. Is she going nuts or something. Alieta got closer and listened to what she was saying but did not disturb her. She is speaking old elven. I don't even know that, said Alieta. Ivy then put her ear to the trunk of the young tree for a few moments then turned and said, something is eating her roots. I need Angus here fast please. Alexa called for Angus and he was there in a flash. Angus something in the ground is eating this poor trees roots, said Ivy. I want you to listen closely to the ground and find it then dig like crazy. Angus did as she told and started to listen with his head close to the ground. He stopped the started to dig at the grounds with his claws throwing dirt everywhere.

Tons of pixies had gathered up in the trees including Pippa after she hear all the comotion to see what was going on. Angus was about three feet down when he pulled out a very big worm like creature that had no eyes, a big head with a big mouth with teeth plus a long lizard like tail. It tried to dig back down and Angus went to bite it. No Angus, if to break it up it will only multiply, said Ivy. We need Viridian here with her sword to burn it. Here let me help. Repellia kept pushing the worm over and stopping it from digging in with her repelling skill. She had to keep pushing it to keep it from digging back down. Phonixa got a ball of fire going in her hands and started to burn it along it's length. It is slowly working but my fire is not big enough, said Phonixa. Pippa told all the pixies to start flapping their wings. Pixie dust started to fall down everywhere plus on the ball of fire on Phonixa's hands all over her. The fire balls started to get bigger and bigger. She then was able to burn the worm much faster and in a minuite it layed their dead and bubbling. Is it dead? asked Phonixa. Ivy went to it and said yep you did it. And gave her a big hug. Now I love you two and so does the tree, said Ivy. She went back to the tree and listened to it. Yep there was only one and it was getting ready to multiply too. If it did that then the entire woods would of died soon. It stinks, what should we do with it? asked Pippa. Put it in the sun. That will dry it up fast, said Ivy. All the pixies started to kick the dirt back in the hole Angus made. Alieta got a few elves to get some shovels and pick it up and put it in the sun on the far side of the woods. So Ivy, said Alieta. How did you know this tree was dying. You were only in the woods for a few minuites. I heard it crying, said Ivy. Trees can feel too you know. So when you were hugging it, what were you doing then, asked Alexa. I was trying to make it better but the problem was not above ground, said Ivy. But you said something to it while you were hugging the tree. I was asking it were it was hurting then the tree brought my attention to it's roots, said Ivy. They don't really talk but made it so I could feel where the pain was, said Ivy. Look, the tree is looking better already. And that it was, the limbs were not so saggy any more and leaves were not falling off anymore. The pixies will take care of it now. They love trees too, said Ivy. So now what do you want to do? asked Ivy. Well Angus needs to get cleaned up again. He is covered in dirt, said Alexa. Lets go out of the woods for a bit until the stink clears out, said Pippa. They all agreed, and quickly ran out.
