Prolog

Ivy that is now living in the palace as Viridian's roommate woke up in the morning and saw Viridian asleep in the bed beside hers so she got up quietly and went in the bathroom. After doing her business she looked in the mirror and made a few funny faces at herself by sticking her tongue out then she noticed a jar with two brushes in it along with a tube that had written on it "Toothpaste". There was a green brush and a red one. Okay green one is mine, I call it, said Ivy. She opened the tube of toothpaste and sniffed it. Smells like mint leaves she thought to herself. Oh look there is writing on the tube, I love reading, said Ivy to herself. Apply toothpaste on the tooth brush then use brush back and forth on all teeth top and bottom then spit and rinse. Okay, sounds easy enough to do, thought Ivy She grabbed the green toothbrush and covered the brush end top and bottom until she couldn't see the brush end anymore. That should be enough she figured then began to brush her teeth as instructed on the tube. A lot of foam built up in her mouth making it impossible to stop some from dripping out. Then suddenly she began to sneeze and couldn't stop. Viridian woke and heard Ivy sneezing in the bathroom so she quickly got up and went over to her. She saw the mess that Ivy had made on the mirror and her face and she was still sneezing. Viridian grabbed some tissue and put it over Ivy's nose and mouth then told her to blow out through her nose hard. Ivy did as told and blew as hard as she could. Viridian then threw the tissue into the waste bucket then put some water in a glass and told Ivy to take a mouthful then spit it out. Ivy was no longer sneezing. You saved my life! said Ivy. No you were just sneezing silly, said Viridian. Haven't you ever sneezed before? Ya but not like that so hard and couldn't stop, said Ivy. Ivy looked at the mirror and saw the mess she made on it. Now look what I did, said Ivy. Viridian handed her a towel. Here you go, you made the mess you clean it up, said Viridian. By the looks of things you used way too much toothpaste. I just did what the writing said and covered the top, said Ivy. Viridian picked up the tube of toothpaste and saw that a quarter of it was gone. I see, next time just put a little bit on the brush. You don't need that much to brush your teeth, said said Viridian. I guess you never used toothpaste before. I never brushed my teeth before but it smelt nice so I tried it, said Ivy. Okay let me use the washroom to get ready then we can go downstairs for breakfast, said Viridian.

Fun At Sandy Lake

Once Viridian was done in the bathroom she came out to find Ivy just sitting quietly on the end of the bed with her eyes closed speaking in a language that she didn't understand. What are you doing Ivy? asked Viridian. Just talking to God like I do every morning, said Ivy. You can talk to God? asked Viridian. Ya, everyone can, said Ivy. I just like to pray in elven language, I can say a lot more with less words that way. Oh you were praying, said Viridian. That is good, so are you done and ready to go downstairs and have some breakfast? Yep I sure am, is Alieta and Ginger going to be there too? Usually just Alieta, Ginger eats after everyone else has breakfast for some reason. Oh okay, said Ivy. The two of them went downstairs to the dining room and found Alieta sipping on a cup of coffee. There you two are, come and sit, said Alieta. I ordered eggs and bacon for us if that is okay. Perfect for me, said Viridian. Me too but what is bacon? asked Ivy. You had bacon at the Pancake House yesterday, said Viridian. It was those strips of meat. Oh okay I really liked them, said Ivy. They both sat down just as Sally was bringing out the food from the kitchen. Okay here you go everyone. So Ivy what would you like to drink? asked Sally. A milkshake please, said Ivy. Milkshakes are not normally drank for breakfast, said Sally. Oh what is then? asked Ivy. Usually orange juice. Okay, I will have orange juice then. When is it time when people eat ice cream? asked Ivy. Well any time after they have had a good breakfast, said Sally. Okay I will have ice cream after breakfast, said Ivy then Sally smiled and went back into the kitchen. Ivy, I know you really like ice cream but ice cream is usually just a treat for everyone, said Alieta. Well eggs are not sweet but good for the body and bacon is not sweet either but also good for the body I think, said Ivy. I need sweet stuff to make my wings strong or I can't fly very fast and not very far without resting for a bit. Ice cream is the best for my wings and lasts the longest. Viridian knows that. Alieta looked at Viridian. Yep you should of seen her go after she drank that milkshake yesterday, said Viridian. I have never seen anyone fly like Ivy showed me on the way to Eden. Yep I can go really high and do loops plus all kinds of stuff, said Ivy. I see, well it is best that you have a bowl of ice cream after breakfast then, said Alieta. Ivy smiled at Alieta then began eating her breakfast.

After they finished breakfast and Ivy had her bowl of ice cream, Alieta asked them what they had planned for today. I was thinking that we would go to Sandy Lake and swim a bit, said Viridian. Sounds like fun, said Alieta. Do you know how to swim Ivy? Yep I am a real good swimmer, said Ivy. None of the pixies I used to know would swim with me because they didn't want to get their wings wet but Kendra used to go swimming with me all the time. And who is Kendra? asked Alieta. She was my best friend before my parents died, said Ivy. She is older than me but loved playing the games I made up back then. Just then Ginger walked in from the kitchen. Good morning everyone, I overheard you say you were going swimming, said Ginger. Yep we sure are said Ivy, do you want to come? Actually I do, said Ginger. You two go out and side and I will get some bathing suits for us. Okay, are you coming too Alieta. No I have some things to do, said Alieta. You three go ahead. Okay but if you change your mind you know where we will be. The more the merrier, said Ivy. Viridian and Ivy left to go outside. Boy that Ivy loves to have fun, said Alieta. Ya I read a bit about forest sprites last night in the library, said Ginger. There is not a lot of information on them seeing they mostly stay hidden in the woods but it did say they can be very friendly and playful and even venture out of the safety of the woods to explore but mostly forest sprites are very quiet and timid rarely talk to anyone else that lives in the woods staying hidden from all people. Well Ivy is definitely not timid and quiet and sure loves to talk, said Alieta. Yes that is for sure, said Ginger. Okay I better get going and get them suits before they leave without me and go skinny dipping. Outside Ivy asked what the the sundial was. It tells the time during the day, said Viridian. Come I'll show you how it works. Now as the sun rises sunlight hits this panel and makes a shadow on the face of the dial that has all those numbers on it. If you look closely you can see the shadow is pointing to the eight or just a bit past it. Oh okay so it is a bit past eight o'clock, I get it, said Ivy. Does it work with moon light at night also? I am not sure, said Viridian. Don't matter, everyone is asleep then. Except all the pixies that are out at night but they never care what time it is anyways, said Ivy.

When Ginger came out she saw the two girls hanging out by the sun dial and walked over to them. You waiting for me? she asked. Yep, said Ivy, Viridian was just showing me how this sundial works. Yes it was a gift from Cumberland. Alieta really likes it and looks at it every morning, said Ginger. So here are your swim suits in this bag. A green bikini for Ivy and a red bikini for Viridian and I prefer a blue bikini, brings out the colour of my eyes. What are bikinis? asked Ivy. Two piece swimsuits that look similar to what you are wearing now but better for swimming in, said Ginger. A lot of girls wear them to lay in the sun and let their skin get tanned also. Why would they do that? asked Ivy. Oh just something us girls like to do to make us look prettier I guess. Oh so being pretty is very important in Fae Land? asked Ivy. It kinda is, all girls like to look good to other people, said Ginger. Call it the nature of things, looking good to others makes you feel better about yourself too. I already feel good about myself, said Ivy. I bet you do, said Ginger. Okay lets go, it is not far from here so we can walk and chat on the wat there. Sounds good, said Viridian. They started towards Sandy Lake and Ginger told them how it was her that first discovered Tempressa and her older sister Snowflake then told Ivy about how they could freeze things. So where is Snowflake now? asked Ivy. Oh she got killed in a war with orcs some time ago but she was such a good soul that Gabriel made her immortal and turned her into Mother Nature. Oh so they are still sisters then, said Viridian. You bet and Mother Nature still visit Tempressa from time to time, said Ginger. What does Mother Nature look like? asked Ivy. Like Tempressa mostly but she wears her hair down. Very pretty woman. You will see her soon enough, I am sure of that, said Ginger.

Once they reached Sandy Lake, Ginger handed them their bikinis to put on. Okay let's go over there where we can get change. It is concealed a bit so no one can see us, said Ginger. The three of them got changed into the bikinis then got back out into the sun. Wow these are really nice and comfortable, said Viridian. I feel naked, said Ivy. No your not and you look great, said Ginger. Ivy checked out her butt. I can see my bum though, said Ivy. Look, you have a beautiful body, said Ginger. Girls that have bodies like yours like to show it off sometimes. Besides we are all girls here and you had no problem getting undressed and putting the bikini on in front of us. Ya I know, I am not used to wearing anything different, that is all, said Ivy. Good so how do I look, asked Ginger. You are right, you suit really does bring out the colour of your eyes, said Viridian. Okay then let's go for a swim. The water is always just the perfect temperature for swimming, said Ginger. They all ran into the water and found it was perfect and didn't go over their heads, even far out from the shore. They played around a bit then Ivy began to swim back and forth across the entire width of the lake. Wow can Ivy ever swim, said Ginger. Ya she said her father taught her when she was younger but your right she can really swim fast, said Viridian. Ivy then disappeared under water then in a few moments she popped up between Viridian and Ginger. Wow, I love this lake, said Ivy. The water is so clear, I can see really good under water. I love swimming, water is the giver of life for everything you know. Ivy shook her head splashing Ginger in the face. Oops sorry, said Ivy. You can splash me too. Ginger smiled, then began using her hands to splash water at Ivy then Viridian joined in. Then Ivy noticed someone was walking on the beach watching them.

Who is that over there, asked Ivy. That is Starlite, said Ginger. But she is a horse sort of, said Ivy. No she is a centaur, half horse and half human, said Ginger. She lives with Oaklynn and Taiyo that are centaurs too and on the team of heroes, said Ginger. They had a baby a while ago and she stays with their son Colin while they go out doing stuff. Wow can I go meet her, she looks really pretty from here, said Ivy At least the human part. Sure looks like she wants to join us anyways, said Ginger. They got back to the beach and walked over to Starlite. Hi Viridian and Ginger, said Starlite. Who might this very pretty girl be? Hi, I am Ivy, you are very pretty. You must be able to run super fast having four legs and all. Starlite giggled. Well yes I can run fast but only when I need to. So let me guess Ivy, you are a forest sprite I heard about correct? Yep how did you know? asked Ivy. Well the green hair gave it away and it looks completely natural. Oh ya, said Ivy. Yep it is natural and so are my nails and eyes, I never have to paint them like Viridian does. Really, said Starlite. Don't you get tired of the same colour all the time. Nope, I love green, can't you tell, said Ivy. Green is the colour of the forest and plants. They all laughed. So do you want to come play in the water with us? No I was just going for a walk when I heard you all laughing and talking, said Starlite. Maybe I will go see what is going on at the palace, I haven't been there in a long time. Why don't you sit and talk with us some first, said Ginger. Alieta and I don't get a lot of time to go visiting and I would love to hear how everyone is do at your place. Sure, why not, I am in no hurry, said Starlite.

It is really nice here and all but I just live a few minutes away and I can bring out some snacks and drinks for us while we talk and catch up, said Starlite. You can see Colin and how big he has gotten too. Okay that sounds good too, said Ginger. Just let us get changed back into our clothes. and we will head over, I don't want to change, said Ivy. I like this bikini now. But you said it showed your bum, said Ginger. So what, is there something wrong with my bum? asked Ivy. It is just as nice as your bum and Viridian's. Starlite began to laugh. You are a funny one Ivy, said Starlite. I think your bum looks very nice. See, I don't need to change right now, said Ivy. Are you strong enough to give me a ride. I have never been on a horse before and I want to see what it is like. Oh yes, centaurs are very strong, said Starlite. Hop on. Ivy jumped on Starlites back then they both headed to her place chatting away with each other. Well I suppose I will get the clothes and bring them with us, said Ginger. Ya that Ivy sure got over being shy pretty fast and now she is riding a pretty centaur, said Viridian. Yep she wasted no time making friends with Starlite that's for sure, said Ginger.

When they reach the house Ivy jumped off of Starlite. Thanks for the ride, that was fun, said Ivy. Next time we have go fast though. Sure anytime Ivy, said Starlite. Okay you all get comfortable and I will get us some drinks and send out Colin. In a few moments Colin came running out of the house. Hi everyone, who is the girl with the green hair? asked Colin. This is Ivy, she is new to Fae Land, said Viridian. Wow, pretty too, Hi Ivy I am Colin do you want to kick the ball around with me? Sure I love playing all kinds of games, said Ivy. Then the two of them started kicking the soccer ball around the front yard. That Ivy is just packed full of energy, said Ginger. You are going to have your hands full with her. No I don't think so, said Viridian. She is all about the good and does what she it told. She is just excited right now. Once she settles in some she will be just fine. Ya, maybe in two years, said Ginger with a smile. Starlite came out with a tray of cold drinks and sat on the ground with them. Well didn't take long for those two to become friends, said Starlite. Well Ivy is really young too. She is only a teen age girl, said Viridian. Really, said Starlite. I thought all sprites were very old and timeless, said Starlite. No, Ivy is a new sprite as sprites go, said Ginger. So where are her parents now? asked Starlite. Oh they got killed while fighting some kind of creatures or something but were able to save their daughter, said Ginger. How sad, she must of been devastated. Well yes she was but she is getting much better now here in Fae Land. She lives with me now in the palace, said Viridian. The palace you say, it must of took a bit of time for her to get used to that, said Starlite. Going from a forest to living indoors. Actually she had no problem at all adjusting. Though she did have an incident with toothpaste and a toothbrush this morning, said Viridian. She put way too much toothpaste on the brush and ended up sneezing non-stop all over the mirror. That is so funny, said Starlite. Hey look Starlite, Ivy is riding me like a cowgirl, yelled Colin. Yes just be care you two, said Starlite. A young centaur has lots of energy all day long but they get up late and go to bed early which gives the adults lots of time to relax. Ivy pulled Colin's t-shirt over his head. I can't see, I can't see, look I am the headless horseman now. They all started to laugh. See, said Viridian, teenagers. Yep, they sure do love to have fun, said Starlite.
