A New Friendship

When Viridian reached the west woods she first saw Pippa. Hi tall and beautiful, said Pippa. Oh stop that Pippa, said Viridian. So what is up? asked Pippa. I was just coming over to see if Ivy was doing okay, said Vividian. Oh she is cool, and let me tell you she is really good at making up games to play, said Pippa. Really so where is she? asked Viridian. Hiding somewhere. We are playing a game she calls hide and seek. Okay sounds simple enough, said Viridian. Not really, there are rules she made for this game that make it harder, said Pippa. Okay so what are the rules, asked Viridian. First I have to stay full size and she can't go invisible then we are allowed to fly have to stay with in this area of the woods and not really far away, said Pippa. Then the person that is doing the seeking has to count to fifty before starting to look for the person hiding. Okay that all sounds like very good rules, said Viridian. Yes they are but man she is hard to find, said Pippa. She let me hide first and I found a really good spot way up top of a tree with thick leaf coverage to hide in. I don't know how she found me so fast but in like two minutes she flew up and found me. Okay so how come you are not looking for her now? asked Viridian. I have been, said Pippa. I am just taking a rest. I never thought how hard it would be to find her at first but you saw her. She has green hair and eyes and her clothes are green and she wears vines on her legs. She blends in so perfectly, I could of walked past her a few times and never noticed her if she stayed still. Yes I can see your problem, do the rules say anything about the seeker getting someone to help her look? asked Viridian. Actually no, said Pippa. Okay then lets team up. I had to hunt for food in the forest most of my life and I can tell when something is out of place. I have very good eye sight and can see even the sightest movement. Okay partner, lets go find the girl that looks like a tree in the woods, said Pippa. Okay now the trick is to walk very slowly making no noise at all so don't step on anything that may make a sound like a twig. Then you keep your eyes peeled to the left side and I will look to the right. Okay got it, said Pippa. They both began to creep through the woods very slowly looking up and down each bunch of trees they pasted. Stop, said Viridian. I found her. Really where. You see that big tree over there, I saw what looked like her arm move behind it. I don't see anything, said Pipa. Well I did and trees don't have arms, said Viridian. Fly over there and see for yourself. Pippa flew over and sure enough the was Ivy pressed up against a tree. Found you finally, said Pippa. Yep you sure did, what took you so long? asked Ivy. Well you are had to see in the woods but it was Viridian that actually saw you first. Really, where is she. Over there smiling, said Pippa. They walked over to Viridian. That was two against one, that is not fair, said Ivy. Hey I asked Pippa and she said you made no rule against getting help said Viridian. Oh that's right, said Ivy. I was getting tired of waiting anyways. So do you want to play too? Well I was thinking that maybe you might want to come with me and explore the town that I was told about just north of here, said Viridian. You mean like an adventure? asked Ivy. Ya sort of, I have never been there before either so it will be an adventure for both of us, said Viridian. Okay can Pippa come too? asked Ivy. Oh no I don't go into the town very often. My place is in the woods but you two go and have fun, said Pippa. You will meet more people there. Okay lets go then. I like adventures, said Ivy. 

Pippa flew off into the woods and Viridian went to her horse and got on it. So the town is just north of elven village and I hear there are shops in that town so we can look around and see what they sell, said Viridian. What are shops? asked Ivy. Oh I forgot you probably never been in a town before. Nope but I flew over a few when I was looking for other forests to live in, said Ivy. Well shops are stores where people go to buy things they need with money like clothes and food, said Viridian. Oh, I don't have any money, said Ivy. Neither do I but it doesn't cost anything to look around, said Viridian. Okay, I will follow you, said Ivy. Once the got out of the woods they started along a path in the elven village. Elves kept waving at them as the pasted. Wow everyone is so friendly here, said Ivy. Yes plus they have never seen a forest sprite before, said Viridian. So is it true you can actually talk to trees? asked Viridian. Sort of, I comunicate with them using my mind, said Ivy. They can't talk or hear like us but trees and plants are living things too and can sense good and bad stuff. I can actually talk to trees in tree language then I read what they are thinking. Plants and flowers can sense things too but their is no language for them really. So how do you comunicate with them? asked Viridian. With love, that is all they want and will grow nice and healthy knowing they are loved by someone. You are a very special girl to be able to do that, said Viridian. I have never looked at trees and flowers like that before. I know but you really like daisies, I like them too, said Ivy. They are happy flowers. How did you know I liked daisies? asked Viridian. That is what you thought of while we talked about flowers, said Ivy. I can read people too but don't worry I won't invade your privacy. My Mother told me it wasn't polite and not my business to read anyone too deep. That is good to know said Viridian. That looks like the town just ahead, lets go a bit faster now that we are out of the elf village.

When they got to the town Viridian jumped off her horse. There was a place to leave here horse so she walked over there and an elf came out and said hello. My who have you got with you Viridian? she asked. This is Ivy, she is new to Fae Land, said Viridian. Welcome to Fae Land Ivy, my you are quite the looker, said the eft. Are you going shopping? No I haven't been here before so we just want to look around, said Viridian. Ya I do that all the time. I call it window shopping, said the elf. So over there is a clothing store and just down a bit is the Pancake House plus there is a general store just before it. Okay thanks for the help, said Viridian and they started walking up the street. Why did she say I was quite a looker? What does that mean? asked Ivy. Viridian smiled. It means she thinks you are very pretty. Really, I am pretty, even with green hair? asked Ivy. Especially with green hair, said Viridian. Oh okay, you are quite the looker too with red hair, said Ivy. Well thank you Ivy, said Viridian. They stopped and looked in a few store windows then Ivy smelt something good in the air. Do you smell that, it smells wonderful, said Ivy. Yes it must be the Pancake House the elf told us about. What are pancakes, asked Ivy. They are something that people eat, come maybe we can see someone eating them through the window, said Viridian. They walked over to the eatery and looked in the window. I can't see what they are eating. Everyone is too far away, said Ivy. Have you eaten yet? asked Viridian. Nope, but I can go a bit longer for now, just shouldn't fly for a bit. A man came out in a cook's outfit that looked mad. What are you two staring in the window for? You are disturbing my customers. I am sorry, said Viridian. My friend has not eaten yet and we were just checking things out. We should go Viridian, said Ivy. He is mad at us. Did you say Viridian is her name? asked the man. Yep, this is my friend Viridian, said Ivy. My goodness, I am so sorry. Come in please and make your self at home, the man told them. Oh we have no money, said Viridian. Money, said the man. You will eat for free here. I have never had a hero here before and it will be an honor to serve you. And who is this very beautiful girl you have with you? This is my friend Ivy, she is a forest sprite and new to Fae Land. My this is a special day, said the man. Come in please, there is a table right up front for you two. The two of them were suprised but quite happy to go in. When they walked in everyone was looking at them. People, this is Viridian, one of the Fae Land heroes and her friend Ivy that is new to Fae Land. Please make them feel welcomed. They all smiled and clapped. A little girl came up to Viridian and handed her a piece of paper and a pencil, Could you give me your autograph please, she asked. Sure little girl, what is your name. It is Kinny, she answered. Viridian wrote down something nice and signed it for her then gave it back. Look mommy she did it. I have a hero's autogragh. Wow I was not expecting that, said Viridian. You are one of the reasons we stay safe in Fae Land so you are not just famous but well loved, said the man. Now have a seat here and I will send out the owner to serve you. The man went back into the kitchen. You are very important here, said Ivy. What did you do to have everyone love you? Well I am on a team of heroes that fight and kill anyone or anything that tries to hurt anyone in Fae Land, said Viridian. Wow, no wonder everyone loves you, said Ivy. I love you too now?  They owner came out looking very happy. Well a hero and a sprite this is a special day. What can I get you two? he asked. What every smells so good in here, said Ivy. Okay and you Viridian? I'll have the same, said Viridian. Do you have any sugar cane? asked Ivy. Well no but we do have sugar, said the owner. Why do you want that, the pancakes come with a good helping of maple surup. Maple surup, I love maple surup, said Ivy. Sweet stuff makes my wings strong so I can fly farther and faster. Well then I know exactly what else to bring you as a treat, said the owner then went back to the kitchen.

So sweet things are good for your wings, that is odd seeing that sweets are known to be fatning and should be eaten rarely and not often. Well maybe for people without wings but with me sweets are needed big time, said Ivy. Alieta probably eats lots of sweets I bet. Pixies eat sugar cane all the time, everyday. They don't know it but when I was being bad I was also being good. How is that? asked Viridian. Well they have a small patch of sugarcane in the woods. So I made the canes grow faster and got seeds from the pretty pink flowers and planted them all over the place. There will be lots of sugarcanes in the woods soon. That is a very good thing you did, said Viridian. The cook came out with two plates of food for Viridian and Ivy. Here you two go. Another person came out with a tray with two tall drinks on it and something else. This looks so good, said Viridian. This is our most popular dish, said the cook. The breakfast special but people order it all day long. Now put a bit of butter on them, pour this maple surup on them and enjoy. Now these two drinks you will like also, I am sure of it. What are they called asked Viridian. Chocolate milkshakes, said the cook. They are made from ice cream and the topping is whipcream with a cherry on top. Wow it tooks so yummy, said Ivy. Okay, injoy and if you need anything else just call for the waiter, said the cook then went back into the kitchen. Ivy went to grab the milkshake. Hey this is really cold, said Ivy. Yes milkshakes are made of ice cream, have you ever heard of ice being warm? asked Viridian. No of course not I guess, what is ice? Okay now I understand, said Viridian. Instead of giving you a science lesson just take a sip from the straw but not too much at once, ice cream is very cold but tastes great. Ivy grabbed the milkshake them took a sip. Her eyes opened very wide. She took another sip then looked at Viridian with a very big smile. This is the most wonderful thing I have ever tasted, said Ivy. Way better than sugarcane and maple surup. I love ice cream! Well eat the food first, said Viridian, That is the main meal. Ivy then poured maple surup on eveything on her plate including the egg and sliced banana then started eatting fast. This is good too, said Ivy. I am glad you like it but slow down, no one is going to take it from you. I know but I want to get back to the ice cream, it is way better, said Ivy. You mean milkshake right, said Viridian. Ya what ever, said Ivy.
