Ivy In Eden

Ivy finished her meal in record time then focused on the milk shake that she first ate the cherry then all the whipcream. She took out the straw then started drinking the milk shake. Don't drink it so fast, said Viridian. Why not, it is so good, said Ivy. Then she grabbed her forehead with her other hand. Ouch my head hurts, said Ivy. I told you to drink it slowly, said Viridian. That is called brain freeze. That is what happens when you drink something that is very clod too fast. It will pass quick. Okay I should of listened to you, said Ivy. I will always do as you say from now on because you know best. Viridian asked the waiter to bring Ivy a spoon. Now just eat one spoonfull at a time and that way it will not hurt your brain and it will last longer, said Viridian. Okay, said Ivy then went back to eating the milk shake one spoonfull at a time. When they were both finished they thanked the waiter and the owner then waved goodbye to everyone and left the Pancake House. I have enough power in my wings to fly all over the place now, said Ivy. Lets go somewhere. Okay, I have to get my horse first, said Viridian. Once Viridian got her horse the elf asked how they did. I had a milkshake made of ice cream and it was so good, said Ivy. Yes I love ice cream too, said the elf. People around here think it will make you fat if you eat too much of it but I have been having a big bowl evey day for the longest time and I haven't gained a pound. Really, how come I wonder, asked Viridian. It's the magic in Fae Land and especially in Eden, said the elf. It keeps everyone young and healthy, so you won't get fat but eating too much at once will give you a tummy ache. That I know for sure. Anyways you two have a great day. Wait, whare is Eden, asked Ivy. Just a bit north of here and west. You can't miss it, everything is so beautiful in Eden, said the elf. Wow lets go there, said Ivy. Okay sure why not, said Viridian. Ivy was full of energy now as the headed west towards Eden. She was flying up very high then coming down fast and doing circles around Viridian on the horse. Wow you sure can fly fast, said Viridian. Yep my Dad said that I was the fast sprite he had ever seen. I can fly faster than a pixie while they are not small. Watch this. Ivy went to show Viridian how fast she could fly but stopped moving. What's the matter Ivy? asked Viridian. Can't you feel it? The magic is getting so much stronger, said Ivy. Pure white magic. Lets go see where it is strongest, follow me. Then Ivy flew off ahead. Okay I better see where she is going, thought Viridian then rode off at full speed after her.

Ivy was way ahead of Viridan but as she chased after her she began to feel the magic too. She began to notice the plant life was very vibrant now and soon she could see lots of different kinds of flowers all over the place. Oddly there were no trees to be seen anywhere for miles. Up ahead she saw that Ivy had stopped fling and seemed to be sitting on the ground. Once she reached the spot Ivy was sitting she saw that all the pretty flowers and bushes were not in this area. Viridian asked her what she was doing. This spot is the center of it all, said Ivy, Center of what? asked Viridian. Center of the white magic in Eden that slowly spreads to all the borders of Fae Land, said Ivy. Okay so why are you just sitting there? asked Viridian. I am communicating with the earth and letting it get to know me, said Ivy. I really don't understand what you mean, said Viridian. Suddenly a bunch of pretty flowers sprung up from the ground encircling Ivy. Okay, all done, we can go now said Ivy. Umm, what just happened here? asked Viridian. Oh the flowers? Arn't they pretty, said Ivy. Just the land showing me it likes me. The ground can't talk you know, said Ivy. Okay lets go over to that house over there, I smell something real good coming from it. Then Ivy headed towards the house. Viridian just shook her head and followed Ivy.

When they reached the house Viridian got off her horse. No wonder you wanted to come here, this is Ktara's house, said Viridian. Who is Ktara? asked Ivy. SHe is one of the heroes and is known to be the best cook in Fae Land. Wow, this was a very good idea to follow my nose here then right? asked Ivy. I suppose but you just finished eating, said Viridian. So, I am a growing girl and you heard the elf, you can't get fat in Fae Land. Your still growing? How much bigger are you going to get? asked Viridian. I don't know, I might be able to comunicate with plants and the earth but I can't tell the future you know, said Ivy. Viridian smiled. Well lets see if she is home, said Viridian. She went to the front door and knocked. Just a minute, said Ktara then in a few moments she opened the door. Hello Viridian is that the girl Carmen told me about? asked Ktara. Yes this is Ivy, said Viridian. We were just north of here and she could smell your cooking somehow from over a mile away so as she put it, she followed her nose. Ktara giggled. I like her already, said Ktara. I have never seen a forest sprite before, my you are a pretty one. You should say thank you Ivy when someone compliments you, said Viridian. Okay, you know best, said Ivy. Thank you. I don't get why people keep saying I am so pretty though. I haven't met one person here so far that wasn't pretty. Ktara is very pretty too. Thank you Ivy, I like you even more now, said Ktara. Please come in I am just about to take sometnig out of the oven. Brownies right, what are brownies? asked Ivy. How did you know what I was baking? asked Ktara. Oh I am sorry, sometimes I can't control what I can see in people, said Ivy. Really, well come in and I will show you what brownies are, said Ktara.

Now have a seat on one of the stools and I will take the brownies out of the oven, said Ktara. So Ivy, I take it you can read people, said Ktara. I heard that forest sprites had that talent but it was for reading plants and trees. No all sprite can read people a bit, said Ivy. Okay but you knew exatly what I was cooking and you were not even that close to me, said Ktara. I don't know, Gabriel said I was special, said Ivy. I can read people very deep if I want but I don't do that unless someone wants me too. So why did you read me then? asked Ktara. Umm because it smelled so good that I wanted to know what it was, said Ivy. Am I in trouble again? Ktara smiled, No not at all, I was just surprised you read me so easily, said Ktara. Okay these are what brownies look like, said Ktara. They are my own special recipe. They smell really good, said Ivy. Oh they are, everyone likes them, said Ktara. Go ahead have one. I better not but thankyou anyways, said Ivy. Why not, Don't they look very yummy with all that chocolate in them. There is chocolate in them? I like chocolate, said Ivy. Yes everyone loves chocolate so have one. No I can't, said Ivy. Why not Ivy? asked Viridian. Because you told me that if I eat too much I will get a tummy ache and I know you wouldn't lie to me and know what is best. Ivy I am not your mother, you can do what you want you know, said Viridian that just realized she shouldn't of said that. You act like my mother did, said Ivy. She always took care of me and taught me things that were really important. She always said lots of sugarcane was good but too much sugarcame was not good just like you said to me about ice cream. Ktara smiled. Ivy can I ask you a personal question? Sure ask me what ever you want Ktara. How old are you? I am just wondering because sprites are everlasting so it is hard to tell their age. I am seventeen, said Ivy. I am getting old. Before you know it I will be twenty then I will be very old, said Ivy. Both Ktara and Viridian began to laugh.

Viridian did you know that Ivy was just seventeen? asked Ktara. No I didn't but that does explain a lot, said Viridian. Ivy I know you really want to try a brownie because you have barely taken your eyes off of them so if you have one of the small ones that will not give you a tummy ache. Really! Your the best Viridian. Then Ivy took one and bit into it. Wow this is so good, almost as good as ice cream. Viridian can I talk to you for a minute in private? asked Ktara. Sure, whats up. They walked over to the hallway that led to the bedroom. She is just a child still, where are her parents? asked Ktara. Oh they both got killed fighting some kind of evil creature in order to save Ivy's life, said Viridian. I thought that was a long time ago though. That is very tragic and it couldn't of been that long ago, said Ktara. This beautiful, sweet innocent girl listens to you like she did with her mother. She respects you just like she did with her parrents. Maybe considers you to be just like her mother. Ya I am beginning to see that, said Viridian. So where is she staying? asked Ktara. In the woods with Pippa and the other pixies, said Viridian. What, she can't stay with all those nutty pixies and besides those woods are not big enough for her, she needs very big trees to sleep in and there are none in the west woods. Your right but what am I supposed to do about that. She loves living with trees and plants, said Viridian. You go to Alieta and tell her that Ivy is going to live with you in the palace and don't take no for an answer. What, live with me, but there is only one bed and the room isn't that big, said Viridian. Then move to a bigger room with two beds in it. Just figure it out. There is something special about Ivy and she needs a mother figure right now, not a bunch of pixies. Okay I will talk to Alieta then. I kinda really like her company, said Viridian. She has a way of keeping a smile on my face all the time. They both went into the kitchen. Sorry Ktara I ate two of the small brownies. The first one was so good I just had to have another one. I don't have a tummy ache either! Ktara giggled. That is fine, you can come back any time to try some of the other things I cook and bake. Thanks, I will like that a lot, said Ivy. Okay we best be going now, said Viridian. I need to talk to Alieta about something, would you like to come with me or go back to the woods? Go to the palace with you please, said Ivy. Okay then lets get going , said Viridian. They thanked Ktara then left. Man that Ivy is so loveable, I have never met anyone quite like her before, thought Ktara.
