After Ivy played a couple more songs she asked Miyo if she was ready to take over. "You bet, said Miyo. This is going to be fun." "It sure is but just remember when that song goes over, turn off the speakers then turn on the microphone, said Ivy. Best you introduce yourself and let people hear what your voice sounds like, remind them that you sang with pixie Ginger at last years harvest festival. That will give people a visual of you. Everybody went to that festival. Now I am heading out to Alma's store to get a cell phone for the station. I won't be long but you have my number if you need me. I have another song set up called Dark Side Of The Moon by Pink Floyd, a very progressive rock band." Ivy got up out of the chair and Miyo jumped in it. Ivy smiled. Like I said I won't be long," said Ivy then left. "Alright, now I am in the captain's seat playing real modern music," said Miyo. When Ivy got to the gadget store Alma was dealing with three customers, all human. She sold the first girl a radio and the other two cell phones. "Ivy you sounded great on the radio, we just had to get cell phones when you said we could call in requests and stuff, what's the number?" asked one of the girls. "Well that is why I am here, to get a phone for the radio station, said Ivy. Miyo will annouce it when I bring it back." "Great, said the girls then left. "Well Alma, buisness looks good," said Ivy. "More than good, said Alma. Just great, I have sold almost thirty radios and thanks to you mentioning cell phones on the radio I have sold fifteen of them. Well make that sixteen now," said Ivy. "I need one for the radio station. I don't want the girls giving out their personal numbers over the radio." "Of coarse not, said Alma. Now I have the perfect thing for the station. It's a buisiness cell phone. I bought three of them just incase they were needed." Really can I see one?" asked Ivy. "Yep let me go in the back and get you one," said Alma. In a minute she came back out with the phone. "Here we go, now it only comes in this one colour and as you can see it is bigger, said Alma. Now this phone has ten times the memory so you can download lots of songs on it too but the best thing about this phone is that I can program it with four phone numbers. "Four numbers on one phone, why is that needed?" asked Ivy. "Well in business you don't want to miss a call, said Alma. Radio stations use them for contests, call in requests and especially for talking up to four people at once. This phone comes with a cable that can plug into your control panel then the conversation will be heard on the radio. That is great for debates or doing an interview over the phone. That way people don't have to come to the radio station to do an interview or tell a story." "Perfect I want one," said Ivy. "I thought you would, said Alma. Now this phone cost a lot more than regular phones." "Well four times more right?" asked Ivy. "No, much more than that, said Alma. The basic charge is the same at twenty dollars a month for the network but the phone plus the cables and power adapter costs three hundred dollars up frontbut that is a one time cost." "That is more expensive but I want it anyways," said Ivy. Can I put it on my palace account?" "You have a palace account, how does that work?" asked Alma. "Yep I get paid by the crown for all the work I do in the fairies cove and all over Fae Land. I get paid a lot," said Ivy. "You must be a busy girl then," said Alma. "Yep but I love what I do. Wouldn't you love it if you could control all the magic in Fae Land and make trees and plants grow healthy and fast?" asked Ivy. "Wow that is just too much for me to undertake even if I could do anything like that, said Alma. You can really do all that stuff?" "Yep sure can. So let me fly home and get the money for you." "No need for that, you can bring it to me later, said Alma. "Just let me program the four numbers into it then put this back in the box for you that has the cords and power adapter in it. The first three numbers is the same as everyone elses but the last four are just for buisness phones. So 2001 to 2004. Now these are not mobile phones. They are like land phones and do not need to recharge. You plug in the power adapter and it stays on all the time. Make sure you read all the instructions though. There are features that I haven't mentioned yet." "I will, Miyo is going to love this phone when I show it to her," said Ivy. "Yes that Miyo has the perfect radio voice, very pleasant, nice to listen to her talk and the that music she is playing is the best. All from the top bands and albums in the world," said Alma. "Yep Olympia gave me fifty of her albums when I was in Granada to bring back here. She said they were the best of the best in her opinion," said Ivy. "Well so far I have to agree, said Alma. Let me get this packed up for you so you can be on your way, seeing you are such a busy girl." "Yep that is me, busy Ivy." Alma packed every thing up for Ivy and handed her the bag. Here you go and enjoy the latest technology in cell phones," said Alma. "I will, thanks for hooking me up with it," said Ivy then left. When she got back to the station she unpacked the phone then showed it to Miyo. "Wow, that is a big one," said Miyo. "Yep it is a business phone, that has four phone numbers," said Ivy. "Really, why four numbers?" asked Miyo. "Lots of reasons but the best one is this phone plugs into the control panel then who ever calls can be heard on the radio for interviews or when Alieta wants to address the people of Fae Land instead of sending out messengers all over the place," said Ivy. "I don't know how that works yet, that is why I have to read these instructions." "That is a lot of instructions," said Miyo. "Yep, that is because it does so many different things," said Ivy. Let me read this and you keep doing your thing, your doing a great job, I heard you at Alma's store. She said you have the perfect radio voice." Miyo smiled. "Well I am a singer," said Miyo. "Yep I know. That is probably why," said Ivy. She sat down and started to read. It took her a while to read all the instructions but when finished she began to set the phone up. She plugged in the adapter into the wall under the table first then plugged the other end into the bottom of the phone that came on right away. "Okay this cord is only long enough to go under turn table two then plug into the controller labled "Input". Now this phone always stays on. It has a battery backup in case the power goes off but I can't see that ever happening. Now the instruction say you don't have to pick it up to listen and talk into it like we do with our phones. It is very sensitive. You read the instructions also seeing you will be using it. Alma wrote the four numbers on the back of the instructions. Leave it out for Tiffany to read also. I will let her know about it when I see her at the palace. In the meantime I am going to the cove to see what is going on there. Keep up the great work. There are lots of radios out there now and everybody is loving you." Then Ivy left. "Miyo cued up another record then told everyone the name of the first song and what band it was. "I like this song. Good for dancing, thought Miyo. She got out of the chair and began dancing. Now this is what I call a good job. Listening to music, dancing and talking to people. Much better when I was working in the corner store in Cumberland, said Miyo. Back at the palace Alieta was sitting on the couch enjoying the music Miyo was playing when she saw Jazmen flying toward her so she turned off the radio and stood up. Jazmen landed in front of her. "Hi Jazmen, is there a problem?" asked Alieta. "No I don't think so," said Jazmen. "Okay so what's up?" asked Alieta. "Well I was at home resting on the couch seeing there is not much going on since I got rid of that bad king when Jessica came home all excited," said Jazmen. "Okay so what was she excited about?" asked Alieta. "She told me two girls came into the factory to buy a box of candy, One was holding some kind of gadget up to her ear and talking to it and the other had a black box that was playing music," said Jazmen. "She wanted me to come see you and see if you knew anything about it." Alieta reached over and turned the radio back on. "This is a radio Jazmen and our Miyo is playing the music from that new radio station in Eden," said Alieta. "Wow no wonder she was all excited, said Jazmen. Jessica loves music, she wants one." "Well Ginger is in the storage room filling some more orders, so go see her and get one, said Alieta. Just put it on your crown account. The other girl had a cell phone that lets you talk to people and other stuff. If she wants one of them then she needs to go to the last store on the main street in the west town to buy one." "Well I don't think she wants one of them but I am getting her a radio." Then Jazmen ran into the palace. "Well she probably will," thought Alieta. Then she sat back down. In a few minutes Jazmen came back out with a radio. "Now this will make Jessica really happy, said Jazmen. You said Miyo is playing all the songs?" Yes she is working the afternoon shift and you know Tiffany, the pretty girl from Triland with the yonger sister," said Alieta. "Yes I have met them a couple of times on the palace grounds," said Jazmen. "Well she is doing the morning shift," said Alieta. Between the two of them they will cover eight hours then the station will play pre-recorded songs all night." "That will be good to listen to when going to bed, said Jazmen. Just put the volume down low then drift away. I am going to try that tonight. So Ivy's plan to bring music to Fae Land is really working." "Yep when Ivy sets her mind on something she follows it through to the end," said Alieta. "Jazmen smiled then flew off. In a few more minutes Alieta saw Sakura heading for the palace but made an abrupt turn and darted to the couch and knelt down with a confused but happy look on her face. "You have a magic music box like the one Pixie Ginger has," said Sakura. "That isn't the song she played on it though." "No this is a radio and the music is coming from the radio station where the tall green tower is, said Alieta. Miyo is in there playing songs for us." "Wow she plays good music," said Sakura. She went to touch the radio. "Don't touch Sakura," said Alieta. Why, is it hot, must be that hot music," said Sakura. Alieta chuckled. "No it is not hot but if you move the dial then the music will stop, said Alieta. It has to be kept set at 101.5 FM." "Oh okay. Can I get one please?" asked Sakura. "I suppose, just ask your mother to buy you one," said Alieta. A bunch of stores in town are selling them." "Okay but not now, can I go inside and have some ice cream?" asked Sakura. "Yes but don't you have any at home?" asked Alieta. "Yep lots but I don't have Sabrina, Koko and Trigger at my place. They are my best friends too you know," said Sakura. "Everyone you meet here becomes your best friend," said Alieta. "Yep, God said I am really good at spreading love around Fae Land," said Sakura. "Yes that is true but what if you meet a bad person?" asked Alieta. "Oh I know how to defend myself," said Sakura. "Really, and how is that? asked Alieta." I get very small then fly away fast," said Sakura. "Alieta laughed. "Yep that sure will work for you," said Alieta. "Okay I'm going in now but will be back with Sabrina, Koko and Trigger," said Sakura then went in the palace. "Well it looks like I am hanging out here for a while," thought Alieta. In a bit Alieta stood up to stretch her legs. She stretched her arms up too then saw what looked like Tulip, flying towards her fast. "I wonder what she wants, thought Alieta. She already did lunch for us." Tulip landed in front of Alieta. "Hi Tulip, what's up? You already finished lunch for everyone," said Alieta. "I know but not everyone, said Tulip. When I saw Ivy in the cove she told me that the radio station was now up and running and Miyo was playing music for everyone." "That's right, the radio on the couch is playing the music now. "Yes I can hear that now, said Tulip. I had a big part in making this happen by making the tall tower which I had no idea about what she was talking about with all that technical stuff other than it will make Fae Land better. She had all the drawings so I figured she knew what she was talking about plus Merlin was with her so I made it. I just had to come and hear for myself and look, it does work just like Ivy said it would. She has gotten very smart lately, I mean super smart." "What do you mean by that?" asked Alieta. "Well in the cove she doesn't even have to touch the overveiwer anymore. She just looks at it and if anything needes adjusting she just thinks about it and the pond does it for her. She turns to the pond and thanks it then goes for a walk through the paths she made. While she is doing that the pool is bubbling, meaning Ivy is fixing things on site and not close to the pond at all. She has so much power over the cove's magic it is amazing. I can't do what she does and I helped build it." "Well Ivy doesn't seem to have changed much, said Alieta. She seems like the same Ivy I have always known." "That is Ivy, said Tulip. Super smart, super powerful and super modest. I think she is really happy with the gifts she was given for her birthday and just wants to make everyone as happy as she is." "Yes, making other people happy definately makes her happy," said Alieta. "Well she also told me Miyo was getting hungry seeing she took her away before lunch time and asked me to go and feed her," said Tulip. "All the way from the cove to Eden and she could tell Miyo was getting hungry. I have to touch the person to know that. That is where I am going now." Then Tulip flew off. "Yep God was right, we have a super forest sprite now," thought Alieta. When Tulip got to the radio station she could hear the music playing from outside. She went inside and found Miyo dancing. "Hi Tulip. Do you want to dance with me?" asked Miyo. "Well you seem to be having fun," said Tulip. "Yep tons of fun," said Miyo. She turned down the volume and sat down. "So what can I do for you?" asked Miyo. "Ivy sensed you we getting hungry so she asked me to come and make you something to eat," said Tulip. "Boy she is good," said Miyo. "You have no idea," said Tulip. "Something simple like a burger and fries, said Miyo. Not a big burger though, a medium one." "Okay what about a bacon cheese burger, they taste better," said Tulip. "Okay, sounds good," said Miyo. "Put out your hands then," said Tulip. She then made her wand appear and made a plate of burger and fries for Miyo. "Looks great, thanks," said Miyo. Tulip looked at all the stuff on the table in front of Miyo with lights flashing and turn tables spinning. "You know how to work all this stuff?" asked Tulip. "Yep I do now, said Miyo. Ivy explained to me what each dial was for then she played the first few songs and talked on the microphone. I watched her very closely then when she left I jumped into the captain's chair and took over, said Miyo. I read some of the instructions and found out more stuff that can be done that Ivy didn't mention. Once I got used to everything I found it easy and a lot of fun. Pick out an album and I will play it for you." "I don't know nothing about this modern music," said Tulip. "Don't matter. Ivy said all the bands that recorded those albums are the top in the world and every song on them is good," said Miyo. "Okay, let me see." Tulip leafed through a few albums then pulled one out. "This one might be good, said Tulip. It has a picture of four guys on it crossing the street on the front. On the back it just says Beatles Abby Road. "Let me see it, I must of missed that one," said Miyo. Tulip handed her the album. "Well someone put five stars on it so it must be pretty good, said Miyo. What song should I play? The first one sounds appropriate, said Tulip. Okay this song is almost over so let me cue it up on the turntable," said Miyo. "When the song was over she turned on the micophone and turned off the speakers. "Okay hope you all enjoyed that, I sure did. Now I have a song that we are hoping is good picked out by our own Tulip from the fairy forst. The song is called Come Together by The Beatles. It should be good seeing the album has a five star rating. You all judge for yourselves." Miyo dropped the needle down then turned off the microphone and turned on the speakers. "Wow how do they make that sound?" asked Tulip. "Beats me but I like it," said Miyo. Then the singing started. "Okay I like this, has a good beat, said Tulip. You eat and I will dance." Miyo smiled then went back to eating her burger and fries. Meanwhile back at Paisley's place where Sparkle was staying when she was in Fae Land. She came in after being in town with a present for Paisley. "Look what I got for you Paisley," said Sparkle. "What is it?" asked Paisley. "It's a radio but more precise it's called a boom box," said Sparkle. "So you can play music on it?" asked Paisley. "Yes but I don't have to, said Sparkle. When I was in town I notice a lot of people walking around with these radios. Some had them on and some were off. I asked a girl where she bought it and she said the general store but if you want one you better move fast. They are almost sold out. Best music ever. I figured Ivy figured a way to get Granada's radio station to play on radios in Fae Land but then it hit me. The radio station here must be working now. I asked if anyone said who is playing the music? Yep a girl named Miyo and she just put on a song by The Beatles that Tulip picked out, awesome song. I said thanks then ran to the store and bought one. Very cheep too about twenty dollars. This same radio in Granada would cost over a hundred dollars." "So they finally got it working? Is it playing now?" asked Paisley. "Yep, where is Titus?" asked Sparkle. "He is in bed, he always go to sleep after we go for out run together. Not even I can wake him up now," said Paisley. "Okay get ready for this, said Sparkle, she is playing some amazing songs from my reality." Sparkle moved a chair out of the way then put the boom box on the table. Come and sit at the table and listen to this," said Sparkle. She sat down then pushed the power button. "Okay that is definately Miyo talking, said Paisley. I'd know that pretty voice anywhere. Who is Rush?" "Just one of the best hard rock band in the world," said Sparkle. She said Closer To The Heart, that sounds like a nice song," said Paisley. "Oh yes, the number one song for a long time, said said Sparkle. Hold on to your chair, this song rocks big time!" The song started then Paisley looked at the radio and opened her mouth wide. "Oh my God, all that sound coming out of that small box, I have never heard anything like that before. Paisley sat back and listened to the song that she was really getting into. That girl singer sure has a high pitch voice," said Paisley. "Yep but that is a guy, said Sparkle. A lot of people thought the same thing when they first hear the band on the radio." "A guy? I would of never of thought that, said Paisley. Okay now that you have told me it does sound like a guy with a high pitch voice." The song started to come to an end when Titus came into the kitchen. "Where is that music coming from?" he asked. "Come dear, have a seat and see what is going on in Fae Land now," said Paisley. After Ivy did what was needed in the cove she flew over the palace and told Tiffany about the new phone and to read the instructions in order to know all the new function it does. Then she walked over to where Alieta and Ginger were standing. "Everything is good in the cove, said Ivy. Now I am heading out to the human village to check on my other golden beacon tree and talk to Cathy, she is expecting me." "You have another beacon tree in the human village? I didn't know that," said Alieta. "Well all the construction should be done now so they are going to need electricity there too, said Ivy. It was too hard to divert magic from Eden there with the overviewer. So I planted a new cutting from the tree in the fairy forest in the middle of their village. Now that tree is drawing the magic to the village that really should be called a town now. If all is good I will get Zotac to set up magic circles and transformers there soon like he is doing in the elf village right now." "Okay, lets step back a bit, said Alieta. Last time I was there, all I saw were small homes many run down and maybe a hundred people living there." "That was over a year ago, said Ivy. There are close to three hundred people there now counting all their wonderful children." "Okay, so the construction being done is building new homes then right?" asked Alieta. "That part is done now, said Ivy. They were working on a place called a Steampunk Tavern where people can get together and meet, have beverages and and eat. The town they built is way better than the elf village big time. Humans are very smart and inventive plus share a variety of skills. They are competitive that keeps them wanting to improve things. You have to go spend more time with them, they love you but they don't feel like they are a full part of Fae Land being so far away from all of us. That is changing now though. I have had Hercules and Pegasus there helping all the workers. I asked Hennie to create some unique flowering plants for all the planters they were made. Nessie goes with her all the time and has made friends with a lot of there children. Cathy was voted in to be the town's embassador and councelor. Super smart and pretty. That girl don't take crap from nobody. Anyways I have to get going, Cathy is waiting." Then Ivy flew off. "Wow, do you know what just happened here?" asked Alieta. "Ya, I think Ivy just told you in her sly and polite way that you have to go see how important the human's comunity has become to Fae Land," said Ginger. "You mean a town now and I think she is saying I am not doing my part there, said Alieta. Plus they got an ambassador now?" When Ivy got to the human's town, Cathy was standing in the main courtyard close to the beacon tree. "Hi Cathy, how are things?" asked Ivy. "Just great, said Cathy. Look at your tree, it has grown so fast." "Yep, I told you it would. It came from a very magical tree in the fairy forest, said Ivy. It is doing it's job now and pulling lots of magic here now from Eden. Once Zotac is finished setting up all the magic circles in the elve's villiage, I will get him to start here next." "This is so exciting, said Cathy. Magic and electricity, people here are so much happier now because of you. We feel like part of Fae Land now." "You always have been, just better now, said Ivy. Look at this place, your people have done such a good job changing a village into a beautiful town. Hennie made some very pretty plants for you that adds colour to the place I see. Just keep an eye on her daughter Nessie, she is just six and has different ideas where flowers should be. She will plant tulips and daisys all over the place like she did in Eden until her mother told her to stop." "Ya we know, said Cathy. We wait until they leave then the women go out and dig them out and put them in pots for indoor plants. It is funny to watch her when she comes back and see's a flower she made is gone. She scratches her head then scruggs her shoulders then just make a new one. She is so adorable and all out kids love her." Ivy smiled. "So is the tavern finished yet?" asked Ivy. "Yep Hercules and the carpenters did the finishing touches yesterday then he took off with Pegasus for a rest, said Cathy. I had a friend of mine in Cumberland deliver kegs of beer and bring in other beverages to get things started so it is up and running in record time. Lets head over and you can have a look at it then we can have a beer." "Sounds good to me, I do love a good cold mug of beer," said Ivy.
