After they walked around past the homes at the south end of the town Cathy showed Ivy the tavern. "Okay here it is, our local tavern, said Cathy. The sign above the doors have no name on it yet because we haven't figured out what to name the town yet." "Yes, I suppose it does need a name, said Ivy. We can't just keep calling it the human town tavern." Cathy opened the door and they went in. "This is a big bar, way bigger than the one I know of in Granada," said Ivy. "Well this is a tavern not a bar or pub, said Cathy. It can easily hold a hundred people. I can have town meetings in here also. Most of the tables and stools are up against the walls for now until it opens to everyone tomorrow. Today though just you and me get to drink for free." "Free is always good, said Ivy. So tell me about that stuff over there." "Well first this is a streampunk tavern, said Cathy. That means the upright kegs use vertical taps that are kept at a constant pressure by that small boiler in the corner. The kegs on their side are gravity tapped but slightly preasurized too. Now that big tank on the right wall is a beer distiller so we make our own beer here too. On the left wall is a whisky distiller." "Wow this is quite the operation you have here," said Ivy. "Well I convinced a brewmaster and distiller from Cumberland to move here and run it, said Cathy. It didn't take long when he saw the town and all the great sunlight we get in Fae Land. Most of Cumberland is forest. I got a great deal on a variety of different kegs beers from the brewery in Cumberland, to get us started. So lets grab a mug from the cabinet over there then just pic a beer you want. Each keg is labeled. Today it is self serve!" "Okay so which keg is the regular beer I drank in Granada? asked Ivy. I really liked that one." Well that was probably domestic beer, said Cathy. I like that one too. There is also dark beers and ales plus different flavoured beers. I tried the rasberry flavored beer and it was pretty good too. The shipment of wines hasn't arrived yet but should be here by tomorrow." Ivy filled her mug with domestic beer and so did Cathy then they sat at a table. "So tell me where did all the money come from to build this place and have so much stock already?" asked Ivy. "Mostly donations, said Cathy. There is a very nice wealthy woman here that has been helping families here long before I arrived a year ago. She donated over a hundred thousand dollars to get the town started. She wanted to build a shopping stripmall but I convinced her the housing was a more pressing issue. I was told she almost died giving birth but the queen here Alieta had something to do with saving her life." "Yes I remember that, said Ivy. You have never met Alieta, she is very nice. She will come soon, that I know for sure after I told her about what you all dod here." "Really, that would be great, said Cathy. Some of the wealthier familes chipped in too but the biggest surprise was from an anonymous donation that appeared in a box out in the courtyard that must of been delivered at night, said Cathy. A worker gave it to me and all it said was a little help from a friend then said The Ice Queen. I never heard of an Ice Queen before so I figured it was a fictional name or something." "No that is Tempressa, said Ivy. She is one of the heros and can turn anything into ice." "Wow, powerful magic then," said Cathy. "What was in the box?" asked Ivy. "You won't believe it but it was filled with precious gems, rubies, emeralds, diamonds and gold coins, said Cathy. I took it to the Cumberland jeweller and had it all appraised. Over one million dollars was in that box. I went to the broker and set up an account then that is when I was able to hire more tradesmen and women that sped things up big time." "That Tempressa is always surprising me and it is hard to surprise me," said Ivy. "There was one more thing in the box, said Cathy. A note that I haven't completely figured out yet. Here have a look, I carry it in my pocket everywhere." She handed Ivy the note. "So do you know what it means?" asked Cathy. "Yep, sure do, said Ivy. "If you build it we will come". Tempressa is a very powerful elf and has friends all over Fae Land now. Sprites, fairies and pixies have all loved to watch her do her ice tricks at gatherings. How would it go over with the people here if those types of magical people began to visit here? Especially pixies, they are the most playful and drop pixie dust everywhere off their wings." "They would all start coming here now? asked Cathy. We would welcome them with open arms of coarse. You and Hennie are the only two magical people I have seen. Well Nessie too." "Magic attracts magic and now with the golden beacon tree doing it's job, it will attract pixies at night, said Ivy. All it takes is one pixie to see the big change here and in one day every pixie in Fae Land will know. They will come at night and spread the pixie dust everywhere making the human town just a magical as the rest of Fae Land. Saying human town bother's me a bit, we are all people. How does New Haven sound?" asked Ivy. "Not bad, but we are not all that new here, just many of the buildings are, said Cathy." Well then just Haven, said Ivy. The Town of Haven in Fae Land, it has a nice ring to it," said Ivy. "Yes it sure does, said Cathy. Haven means a place of safety and refuge. I like it! I am sure the rest of the people will too. Lets drink up and fill up another mug." Back at the palace, Alieta was starting to feel uneasy. "What's going on Alieta? asked Ginger. It looks like something is bothering you." "Yes something is, said Alieta. It is what Ivy said to me." "Well it is great that they have been working on making the human town better now and there are more people living there, said Ginger. They even elected an ambassador, that is all very good." "I have know Ivy since she first came here and so have you, said Alieta. She has a very polite way of telling me things without making it look like she is not happy with me." "Oh you mean when she wanted you to get off your butt and go to the town and meet Cathy," said Ginger with a smile. "So you figured that out too then," said Alieta. "Yep, I can tell by the way she is standing if she is just talking to you or trying to tell you something without over stepping her bounds," said Ginger. "Really, by the way she is standing?" asked Alieta. "Yep, like this she is just talking, said Ginger. Nice and relaxed but like this with a leg out to the side and a hand pointed at you plus eyes fixed just on you, she is definately tring to get you to do something." Alieta smiled. "Yep, that is exactly how she talked to me, said Alieta. I have to go, you take charge." Then Alieta flew off. "Well she is getting better, thought Ginger. It only took her twenty minutes this time." When Alieta arrived, she landed by the beacon tree. "Well there is the tree," she thought to her self. She looked around. Holy, what a change, it is so pretty and organized here now and very clean. I wonder where everyone is?" The cute little Liza came running out of her house singing a song and nearly bumped into Alieta. "Oops sorry," said Liza. Then she looked up. "Alieta! I missed you. You still look beautiful. Mom says I have grown some, what do you think?" "Yes you are a bit taller now, said Alieta. So where is everyone?" "It's the weekend and everyone is at the park celebrating." "What are they celebrating?" asked Alieta. "All the constuction is done, said Liza. Looks really nice here now, dosn't it?" "Yes it is wonderful now," said Alieta. "Do you know what I saw on the way here to change my clothes into something cooler?" asked Liza. "No what?" asked Alieta. "A pixie! she was flying around the golden tree then saw me. She flew down and smiled then touched my nose with her finger then flew off really fast." "Really a pixie was here, you say. It must of sensed the tree here." "I guess, said Liza. I have to get back to the park now. Mom bought a radio and so did some other people, we are all dancing and stuff." "Okay but before you go, have you seen Ivy here at all?" asked Alieta. "Nope but when she comes here she always talks with Cathy. Maybe they are in that new big building at the end of that path. The adults are very excited it is finished for some reason." "Okay thanks, said Alieta. You go and have fun and say hi to your mother Grace for me." "I will," said Liza then skipped off towards the park. Alieta flew up above the buildings and saw the place Liza was talking about. She flew over then looked in the window and saw Ivy and Cathy talking at a table. "It's a tavern and a big one, said Alieta. No wonder the people are so happy to know it is finished." She opened the door and walked in. "Hi Alieta, said Ivy. Come over and meet Cathy." "That is Alieta? She is gorgeous," said Cathy. "Yep the prettiest of all sprites," said Ivy. Cathy drank the last mouthful of beer in her mug then stood up to meet her. "Hello Alieta, it is a pleasure to finally meet you," said Cathy. "Oh the pleasure is all mine Cathy, said Alieta. I am very impressed what I have seen here so far. You managed to take an old barely a village with old weather worn houses and change it into a thriving neighbourhood that has been upgraded to a town. So clean and organized. I couldn't believe my eyes when I first came here." "Well everyone did this," said Cathy. "No it takes a great leader to get results like this, said Alieta. Great leaders are hard to come by. This is a magnificent Tavern. The largest I have ever seen." "Well we needed a big place because of all the new people that came to work here and just wanted to stay, said Cathy. After we got that big donation from the Ice Queen I was able hire lots not trades people that sped things up a lot and most of them stayed also." "The Ice Queen, Tempressa donated money?" asked Alieta. "You bet Alieta, said Ivy. Over a million dollars in valuable gems." "Wow, that much! She sure can surprise me at times," said Alieta. "Yep surprised me too, said Ivy. Sit down Alieta and drink with us, today the beer is free for us." "Really, free is good, said Alieta. Cathy smiled at Ivy then went and grabbed a mug from the cabinet and filled it up for Alieta then refilled Ivy's and hers too. Okay so cheers everyone, said Alieta and because I had no idea you were here and what you were doing, welcome to Fae Land." "Tempressa left a note in the box with the gems that said If you build it we will come," said Ivy. "Really, do you think she was talking about this tavern?" asked Alieta. "I think she was talking about everything but mostly here," said Ivy. "Pixies will be here soon with the beacon tree working now and the heros sure do like to drink during gatherings." "Well a pixie has already been here, said Alieta. I met Liza when I first got here and she saw one." "Perfect, said Ivy. Tonight the dusting will start." "What does that mean? Ivy mentioned sonthing about spreading dust around," said Cathy. "Well pixies are very magical, said Alieta. They can get super small and fly faster than the speed of sound, they cannot do magic like a fairy but the dust on their wings that makes them so fast is extremely magical in that when it lands on trees, plants and the ground, it makes all it touches grown healthy and fast." "That is amazing, said Cathy. "Yes but the dust also heals, said Alieta. Got a cut or scrape, just put a bit of pixie dust on it and in a few seconds it is healed completely. It can heal big areas too and after a while it will be in the air you breath getting into your blood, removing all impurities, cures anything that may of been wrong with you and so long as you stay here, you will never get sick again." So I will never get sick and neither will anyone else living here?" asked Cathy. "Same with everyone in Fae Land, said Ivy. It also rejuvinates the body constantly. All the internal organs, muscles and brain." "So what does that mean? asked Cathy, sounds really good." "Very good, said Alieta. Those that are not everlasting like elves, it gives them longevity. Slows down the aging process many times over. There are elves in Fae Land that are hundereds of years old, some well over a thousand." "What a thousand years old! Can humans live that long?" asked Cathy, "I don't know. Humans are a more recent to Fae Land but some of the earliest ones are over two hundred now and still look like they are in their twenties," said Alieta with a smile. "I am really going to like living here," said Cathy. "Just don't get killed or have a fatal accident. You are still mortal," said Alieta. "Moving on, we came up with a name for the town," said Ivy. "Really, what is it?" asked Alieta. "Haven, said Cathy. Ivy's idea that I like and am sure everyone else here will too." Haven, yes a place of peace and safety, said Alieta. Indicates lots of love too. Perfect name, I will tell my records keeper when I get back." They stay and talked more and each had another beer. When it started to get dark outside, Alieta said goodbye to Cathy and flew back to the palace then Ivy soon had to leave too seeing she was getting very sleepy. Cathy put the empty mugs on the bar then headed home after locking up. Slowly everyone at the park began to pack up and head home. Celebrations were done for the day. The same was happening at the palace and the elf village. Alieta told Ginger all about the the new name Haven and how amazing it look now. Ginger told her she planned on going there tomorrow. Alieta was too tired to watch the pixies tonight so she went into bed. Ginger sat by herself for a bit watching the coluorful light show the pixiels were putting on as they flew around doing their thing. In Haven everyone was now safelty at home getting ready for bed. After the last candle was blown out and all was still outside, it began. Hundreds of tiny pixies appeared out of nowhere, slowly flying around the becon tree plus all other trees and plants. Above the houses too making sure to not miss a spot. They knew Ivy planted the golden tree here so they gave the entire town an good first dusting. No one was up to see all the beautiful dots flickerling and changing colours as they flew around except one small girl watching from her bedroom window with a big smile on her face. When the pixies were finished they all quickly moved on to the next area that needed dusted, then Liza went to bed. In the morning Tiffany got up at seven AM sharp that was two hours longer than she usually got up. She had her shower then woke Sabrina and put out clothes for her. Brushed her hair then went downstairs to the dinning room to have breakfast leaving Aiko to sleep in again. Koko and Trigger were already there eating. Ginger was there also waiting on her pancakes from the kitchen. "Good morning Ginger, hope you slept well," said Tiffany. "Yes I did, said Ginger. So you ready for your big debut this morning." "Yep, I am going to get there early to read the instructions on the new radio station phone Miyo told me about, said Tiffany. It is suppose to have some extra features like doing interviews over the phone that gets broadcasted live." "Really, so if I was to call in, I can be heard by everyone with a radio?" asked Ginger. "Yep if you wanted or I can keep it a private call. I have to read up more on it," said Tiffany. "Did Miyo tell you what the number is?" asked Ginger. "Yep, it is an easy one to rememeber, 777-2001. There is suppose to be four numbers, said Tiffany. I will figure it out when I get there." Once everyone was finished eating Tiffany brought Sabrina and the two pets back up to their room. "Now you three be good, I have to go to work now, said Tiffany. I will be back a bit after one o'clock. Aiko will be in charge so if you need anything just ask her." "Okay I will, said Sabrina. Tiffany then headed out to the stable, said good morning to Casper then headed out to the radio station on her horse. Once there she had a look at the instructions for turn tables and main controller to refresh her memory. First thing she notice was the two turn tables didn't seem to be positions like in the diagram. These are backwards, she said. She unplugged turn table one and gently turned it around then plugged it back in. That is better, easier to reach the needle when it is at the front. She then did the same to turn table two. Now she read through the buisiness phone instruction manual. There were some things in it she didn't understand like downloading songs from certain websites that can be played directly from the phone. She did learn how the call-ins worked and how to conduct interviews with up to four people at once. Just five minutes left and Tiffany had to go live. She picked out two albums and cued them up. When the cell phone's clock showed exactly nine o'clock she swithched off the play list on the laptop, turned off the speakers and turned on the microphone. "Good morning everyone in Fae Land, she started. I hope you all had a great sleep. My name is Tiffany coming to you at 101.5 FM that plays the best songs ever recorded from around the world. I will be playing music for you all until one PM then Miyo will take over. Today's morning wake up song is Satisfaction from a band called The Rolling Stones. She droped the needle on the record, turned off the microphone and swtched the speakers back on. "That went well, she thought to herself. Now let me have a look through all these albums to see what I have to work with." Sparkle got up before Paisley and Titus and used her orb to teleport back to her room in Granada. She went through her very big record collection and began sorting through them, deciding what ones she was going to bring back with her and donate to the radio station in Fae Land. She managed to pick out fifty albums and fitted them in a box. She knew that they were going to be heavy and hard to carry, but that she would figure out when she got back to Fae Land. She teleported back, directly to the kitchen where Paisley was getting ready to make her morning coffee. "Hi Sparkle, what do you have there?" asked Paisley. "Records for the radio station, said Sparkle. These one are from groups Miyo didn't play yesterday. Can you give me hand putting them on the chair. I don't have the muscles you super heros have, fifty albums is very heavy." "Okay though Titus is the one with the big muscles but the two of us should be able to manage it," said Paisley. Together they lifted the box onto the chair. "So what makes you think they need more records?" asked Paisley. "Well I noticed Miyo was starting to play songs near the end of her shift from bands she played earlier. Same band but different song, said Sparkle. With these albums they will have a bigger selection. Now I just got to figure out how to get them to the station." "No problem sweety, Titus, get your butt out here, we need your muscles!" yelled Paisley. Ginger and Alieta were outside enjoying the morning air. Ginger had he cell phone out and was looking something up. "What you looking for Ginger, something new to order?" asked Alieta. "Nope, just looking for that store I ordered the radios from," said Ginger. "We need more radios already? asked Alieta. We bought five hundred." "Ya and I delivered three hundred and fifty yesterday, said Ginger. That was day one when the radio station just started. Now that most everyone knows about it we will need twice as many now. You said that even the humans were buying them up." "Yes that is true, said Alieta. Seems that once one girl bought one and showed her friends then everyone wanted one." Yes and you told me there is over three hundred of them now in Haven, said Ginger. There is well over two thousand elves and about three hundred sprites. Man that is a lot of possible radio sales. I sure hope the pixies don't start buying them too! Now I was thinking after I talked to Tffany this morning in the dining room that told me the new phone at the station can do interviews over the phone that will be heard on everyone's radio, maybe you would like to tell everyone about Haven." "Really so I don't have to go there to speak to the people," said Alieta. "Nope, sit right here on the couch and talk away," said Ginger. "Okay I would like to tell everyone about Haven and some other things too, said Alieta. Wait until you go there today and see the huge difference." "Let me set it up for you with Tiffany first, said Ginger. You can do it just before lunch time, say eleven thirty. She gave me the number and it is a real easy one to remember. Didn't even have to write it down." Ginger punched in the radio station's number and Tiffany answered. "Fae Land Radio, Tiffany speaking, how can I help you?" "Hi Tiffany, it's Ginger. I would like to setup a time for Alieta to call and address the people of Fae Land." "So what time, asked Tiffany. Eleven thirty would be best, said Ginger. That will give you time to anounce a few times that Alieta wishes to speak to everyone. You won't be interviewing her, it is just a public anouncement." "Okay got it, said Tiffany. I'll make sure everyone knows." Then she ended the call. "Okay, all done, said Ginger. "This will be your first pubic anouncement over the radio. Make it a good one." "Oh it is a good one, said Alieta, don't you worry." When eleven twenty five came around Alieta sat down on the couch with Ginger then call the radio station. "Hi Tiffany, it's almost time, said Alieta. Is everything ready." "Yep all set, said Tiffany. Now just make sure your radio is not or nearby, that will make your voice echo." "No problem, radio is off, said Alieta. I will try and keep it short but there is a lot I need to address." "Take what ever time you need, you are our Queen and I am sure lots of people are waiting to hear what you are going to say," said Tiffany. Over at Yeanny's house Zotac and Yeanny were sitting at the table with the radio on waiting to hear what Alieta was going to talk about. "This must be important, said Yeanny. Tiffany told people to listen after every couple of songs." "Yes I am wondering too, said Zotac. Might just be about the new wish tree garden and magic cave." The song went over then Yeanny called Sakura over. "Coming," yelled Sakura. Tiffany made the introduction then Alieta took over. "Hello everyone in Fae Land, I have some important news to share with you all. There are a number of things I have to cover so bare with me. First I would like to tell those that haven't noticed yet that there is a new mystical garden in Eden with a magical wish tree in it that will grant one simple wish per person. Just put out your hand and a leaf will fall in your hand then make your wish. There is also a magical cave with a long tunnel. In that tunnel you will see and experience the unexpected. The rock wall waterfall that is a bit further north is a good place to cool off and have an outdoor shower. The water comes from the Pixie Forest making it very soothing and good for your skin. One more thing that is not quite finished yet is the new Amusement Park. You are welcome to enjoy the park and have a picnic just the rides are not ready yet. Now moving on to more exciting things." "Those were pretty exciting to me," said Sakura. "Yes I know but keep listening," said Yeanny. "Some of you may know that a little while ago we were visited by a group of elves and their Queen from Triland. Now Triland has three or four times the number of male elves than female unlike us that have none. The queen of Triland has promised to send more male elves here soon, those that wish to meet one of these male elves and possibly liking each other then if all goes well then hopefully we will be seeing baby elves in Fae Land next year, something I have never seen since I became queen. Those that own stores should start stocking baby supplies and clothing, plus cribs. Ginger told me when a mother first finds out she is pregnant they don't wait five or six months to begin buy supplies. They start right away, shopping most every day stocking up on diapers, clean clothes and blankets, baby wipes and so on. No reason for our elves to go all the way to Cumberland." "That's true you know. The mother instinct kicks in fast," said Yeanny. "I was never a baby though," said Sakura. I know but you will always be my baby no matter how big you get," said Yeanny. "Now I have one more thing to address and it is a big one, said Alieta. Those of you that ever ventured to the human village will remember it as a place with run down, weather worn homes with around a hundred people living there. The only recreation was going to the park on the week end. Well that has all changed, there is well over three hundred people there now and growing. They have invested their own time and money plus donations to rebuild the village. Ivy has been working closely with the new elected ambassador named Cathy. Ivy planted a branch from the magical tree in the fairy forest in the center court of the town that has grown fast with Ivy's help and is drawing in magic from Eden. That is right, I have upgraded this village to a town and they have named it Haven. The word Haven means a place of safety and love where all are wlcomed. Haven is now a very beautiful place to visit with new buidlings and courtyards covered in plush grass, perfect for barefeet. The people are extremely friendly and have created a thriving community. There are two things Haven has that the rest of Fae Land doesn't. One is they have lots of wonderful children that love to play." Sakura's head perked up. "And second is they have built the biggest steampunk tavern I have ever seen that can hold well over a hundred people at once. There are many different types of beer and they also brew their own plus make their own whisky. You have to see this place to believe it and all this was done in just one year. Cathy welcomes all and said the first beer to newcomers is free and we all know free is good. So thanks for listening all. Have a wonderful day." Then Alieta hung up. "How was that Ginger?" asked Alieta. "You did it again Alieta. You brought tears to my eyes," said Ginger. "Did you hear that?" asked Sakura. "Hear what," asked Yeanny. "Haven has lots of children that love to play, said Sakura. Can we go please, please, please." "What do you think, Zotac, want to go for a couple pints of beer?" asked Yeanny. "You bet, I definately want to check out this steampunk tavern, I have never seem one before." "Yeah! That means yes right," said Sakura. "Yes but you have to wait for us, we have to get changed," said Yeanny.
