Alieta flew over to the stable to have a look at the horse she just bought. Carling was brushing down Black Magic. "Hi Alieta, look at this amazing horse. Isn't he beautiful." "Yes he sure is, said Alieta. I just bought him." "You did? Off that blonde elf? What was he crazy. A horse like this is very rare," said Carling. "No he got a good price for it and I gave him one of my horses too. I bought it for Ginger. Has Black Magic been feed yet?" asked Alieta. "Yep, just finishing up grooming him," said Carling. "Well can you bring him over by the tree out there and keep him calm. I am going to get Ginger and surprise her with him." "Okay, that will be easy, this horse is very tame and calm," said Carling. "Good I will be right back," said Alieta then flew back to the palace. She asked an elf to go in the palace and get Ginger for her. In a few minutes Ginger came out. "Hi Alieta, what's up?" asked Ginger. "Now I don't want you to ask any questions, said Alieta. I want you to close your eyes and cover them with both hands. I have a surprise for you." Ginger smiled then closed and covered her eyes. "Now no peeking, I don't want you to ruin my surprise. I am just going to take you by the arm and lead you to where the surprise is." said Alieta. "Okay I guess," said Ginger. Alieta took her arm and started to walk towards the stable. "Where are you taking me?" asked Ginger. "Never mind, you will see soon enough," said Alieta. When they reached Carling and Black Magic, Alieta turned Ginger so she was facing the horse. "Okay you can open you eyes now," said Alieta. "Ginger opened her eyes and saw the horse. Her mouth opened wide. Oh My God! A black stallion. Where did you ever find him?" "I bought him from one of the male elves that rode in this morning," said Alieta. "Wow, he sold you his horse. This is not a normal black stallion, it is a thoughbred Mustang. The rarest of all black stallions plus very fast and smart, said Ginger. Hardest of all horses to break if you ever can. "I know, so do you like?" asked Alieta. "I love it," said Ginger and gave Alieta a hug. "The horse's name is Black Magic and Malakia said it is the fastest horse he has every riden. So fast it is like magic," said Alieta. Ginger started to pet Black Magic. "That is the perfect name for the perfect horse, said Ginger. Look at the muscle tone on you. "Well he is just two years old," said Alieta. "Really, he is still a baby," said Ginger. "A horse like this is worth well over twenty thousand dollars, probably a lot more in some places." "Go ahead take him for a ride," said Alieta. "Yep he is already fed and watered so go for it Ginger," said Carling. "Aliright, I am going to show him off to everyone," said Ginger then jumped on the horse. "Hows he feel Ginger?" asked Alieta. "Great, he didn't even stir when I jumped on." Ginger bent down and whispered something in Black Macic's ear. Black Magic raised his head up and made a horse sound. "Okay here we go," said Ginger. She nudged Black Magic with her heels then Black Magic went up in this hind legs then took off like a shot! "There she goes, probably won't see her for a good part of the day," said Alieta. "Man she can really ride a horse," said Carling. "Oh yes, that girl can ride, said Alieta. She loves horses and much as she loves people, maybe more, said Alieta. Well I better get Casper's breakfast ready then start grooming the rest of their horses, said Carling. Then I have to shower and get ready for my date with Nathan." "You have a date already?" asked Alieta. "Yep he asked if he could take me on a lunch date. There was no way I was going to say no. He wants to meet a nice girl and have a family. I am a nice girl and I have waited long enough to have a family." "Yes your right, said Alieta. Just make sure he doesn't try to hurt you. I dought he will but I have lived in Fae Land most of my life and him just thirty minutes. I can knock him down and hold him down," said Carling. Alieta smiled then flew back to the palace. Tiffany was outside of the palace holding her cell phone. "So you already to start off the week for everyone with some more music?" asked Alieta. "Yep all set, said Tiffany. Was that Ginger I saw on a black horse running past the palace? Yep I bought her a black stallion," said Alieta. "Okay, I tried to take a picture of her going by but it just looks like a black blurr streaking by,: said Tiffany. "Ya Ginger likes riding horses fast and that is a very fast one," said Alieta. "I guess so. I can kind of make out the horses eyes and tail, said Tiffany. So I heard there are four new male elves here from Triland." "Yes, they are inside getting cleaned up," said Alieta. "That's cool, I am too busy right now to bother with them, said Tiffany. Besides I am not interested in hooking up with anyone for a while. I am too young and have lots to do yet before raising a family. I want to enjoy life as a single girl, watch my sister grow up. Stuff like that, to me I already have a family to raise." "I get that, said Alieta. Though there are girls here that haven't been in a relationship for hundreds of years. They figure that is long enough to be single." "Wow that is a long time, said Tiffany. Even still I will wait, maybe date some and play the field." "Well there isn't much of a field right now, said Alieta. Two are taken, another one is going on a date with Carling so that leaves just three and they will probably get scooped up soon too." "Oh well, there will be more coming. If you every saw what the female elves looked like in Triland, you would see why. They were pretty when they were young but as they got older they started getting tattoos and doing weird things with there hair, nose percings too. They think they look cool, I think they look stupid. Not me though. All natural and not even peirced ears." "Well Miyo has some tattoos," said Alieta. "Ya I know and they look good on her, professionally done but still that is not for me. Anyways I have to get going," said Tiffany then she headed for the stable. "Well she definately knows what she likes, thought Alieta. Good head on her shoulders." Ginger rode over to Ktara's place where she found her outside doing some gardening. "Wow, look at you on a black stallion, said Ktara. A Mustang too, where did you find that treasure?" "Alieta bought him from one of the new male elves that arrived today," said Ginger. She jumped off Black Magic and walked up to Ktara. "Do you have a bowl of water for Black Magic? asked Ginger. I have been pushing him to see what he can do." "Yep give me a minute and I will fill a bowl for him." She went in the house then came out with a big bowl of water. "There you go Black Magic. That is a cool name for a black stallion, said Ktara. Mustangs are wild horses and the hardest of all to break. From what I read, a Black Stallion Mustang would lead its herd of mares and defend them to the death. Something different must of happened with this horse to be so tame and ride-able." "What do you mean different? asked Ginger. Well maybe it was taken from the mother at a young age or was born and raised on a horse farm, said Ktara. That wpuld make more sense. A horse like that would cost a small fortune used mostly for racing. So is he fast?" "Fastest horse I have ever been on, said Ginger. He likes to run free and straight and will only turn when I slow him down. He seems to know what kind of ground he can run fast on and on soft ground or rocky ground he slows down with out me telling him." "Very smart horse then, said Ktara. So where you off to next?" "Haven. I promised Alieta I would go check it out and see all the improvements they have done there," said Ginger. "Ya I heard on the radio, said Ktara. Alieta spoke very highly of them there. I think I will go with Viridian soon. Make it a good outing." "Okay water is all done, said Ginger. That should hold him for now. Thanks Ktara and thankyou for all the info." Ginger got back on Black Magic then rode off. Ginger headed north but was taking her time even though the grassy plains was perfect for running a horse. She would stop and show off Black Magic to everyone she met on the way to Haven. She mostly met up with human woman going the other way to do some shopping. In a bit Ginger could now see the front builds of the town. "My God look at the size of this place now, said Ginger to herself. No wonder Alieta upgraded it to a town." When she got to the town she jumped off of Black Magic and looked around. "Look at his place boy, isn't it beautiful," said Ginger. A boy and a little girl ran up to Ginger and said hi. "Hello, you have a nice horse. Can I ride him?" asked the little girl. "You are not big enough to ride that horse, said the boy. It is huge and even too big for me. Very nice looking horse Miss. Are you looking for someone?" "Well yes, the embassador Cathy, I would like to meet and talk to her," said Ginger. The little girl tugged on the boy's arm. "What is a embassador Colin," she asked. "Beats me, said Colin. Maybe she is talking about the Cathy that is in charge here." "But we have a bunch of Cathys here," said the little girl. "Yes the one in charge," said Ginger. "Oh okay, do you have an appointnent?" asked Colin. "Well no, do I need one?" asked Ginger. "Nope I was just kidding around, said Colin. Lets go fine embassador Cathy for her Candy. You go that way and I will go this way and last one to find her is a rotten egg." Then they both took off. "That was kind of entertaining," thought Ginger. She saw some more kids run across the far pathway. In a bit, Ginger was about to leave, figuring the two children couldn't find Cathy and just went back to playing when Cathy came around the corner. "Hello there, Colin and Candy said you wanted to talk to me. How can I help you?" asked Cathy. "Oh they did find you, I thought they gave up and went back to playing," said Ginger. "They probably are now, said Cathy. All the kids here make a game about everything while they are outside burning off all that energy they have in the morning." "Oh okay, I am just not used to seeing children that much. My name is Ginger and I am in charge of the palace and just about everything else that goes on in Fae Land." "Okay, Alieta's friend, she talked to me about you when we were in the tavern, said Cathy. She said you would be coming by soon. So how to you like the place?" "It is amazing, said Ginger. I had no idea that you were doing so much work here. Anyways Alieta up graded Haven to a town but a town also needs to have some stores in it to qualify for being a town, said Ginger. I just want to know if you need some help building some stores here." "Not really, we already have some, said Cathy. Over there is the bakery and down the court is a seamstress, very handy for mending the children's clothes. Around the corner there is a girl that makes pottery, we have a black smith in the stable and there is the tavern where we make our own beer and whisky. That is all we need here." "Oh okay, that works then," said Ginger. "You see Haven is in the perfect spot for shopping, said Cathy. It is twenty minutes to the west town, twenty minutes to the north town and twenty minutes to Cumberland's first town. We can get what ever we need from them and they all deliver." "That is handy, said Ginger. So basically you all seem to be able to take care of yourselves." "Well yes mostly but Zotac will be coming by soon to set up magic circles so we can all have electricity, said Cathy. I am not the technical type but we talked yesterday in the tavern and he said it would give us indoor lights and we can start using some of those new small appliances that run on electricity sold in Cumberland." "Wow, it sounds like you really have it together here," said Ginger. Yes but we all work as a team here, I am just the go to girl, said Cathy. Look your horse seems to really like Ivy's tree. Magnificent looking horse." "Well his name is Black Magic and they say magic attacts magic," said Ginger. "Yes so Ivy told me. We are working on the park right now so that is why all the kids are playing in town. It is off limits until it is finshed," said Cathy. "Well that is all I needed to talk to you about. If you ever need any money from the crown just let me know. A town has access to lots more funding than a village, said Ginger. Come Black Magic, lets go visit Alexa. I haven't seen her in a while." Ginger jumped up on Black Magic then she took off. "Wow nice girl on a fast horse. I wonder who Alexa is, thought Cathy. I'll ask Ivy when she comes by later." Tiffany was sorting through the records Sparkle brought yesterday when pixie Ginger walked in. "Hi Ginger, I haven't seen you in a while at the palace," said Tiffany. "We just finished our Canadian tour with the Marauders, said Ginger. It was a lot of fun playing and singing in front of so many people but I prefere just recording new songs and stuff in the studio. When we got back there was a box of these CD's at Shirley's boyfriends house Jim. He said it is at the top of the charts in Granada right now so I teleported back here with a bunch of them to give to my friends. I knew there were radios here with cd players because I transported them here with me. What I didn't know was the radio station was working now." "Yep just for a few days but everyone is buying radios and listening in, said Tiffany. Thing is I don't have a radio with a cd player here at the radio station right now." "Well you have a lap top, said Ginger. Most lap tops have a cd player built into them." "Really, where?" asked Tiffany. "Let me show you," said Ginger. She walked over to the lap top then pushed a button on the side of it and a drawer opened up. "There, see, kinda hidden but now you know where it is, said Ginger. Just place the cd on the tray like this then push the button again and the drawer closes. A window opened saying "CD Player Ready". Now just click on the search button and now it shows you all the songs on the cd." "Okay, that is easy enough, said Tiffany. I already have a Marauders record with some of your songs on it." "Well this cd is different. It is Shirley and me doing solo recordings in the studio. Most of these new songs haven't been heard yet, said Ginger. There is a solo version of "Just A Country Girl" too that I think is way better." "Wow, thanks Ginger, I will go through it quickly the make it the feature album of the day, said Tiffany. Miyo and I decided to start doing that seeing we have so many records now." "Okay I am heading back to the palace and see what else new is going on." Then Ginger left. "Nice, local talent now also," thought Tiffany. "Oops song is almost over, time for that one by Boston now." At the palace Nathan waited patiently outside. It was a bit after one-thirty and he was beginning to get worried that Carling wasn't going to show up for their lunch date. Carling came out of the palace and saw Nathan standing there with arms folded looking back and forth. She snuck up behind him and poked him on both his sides. "Gotcha", she yelled that made Nathan jump forward. "Wow you sure did, said Nathan. I was beginning to think you weren't going to show." "I'm a girl silly, I had to shower then change my clothes then brush my hair and teeth, said Carling. Put a bit of makeup on, just a little to highlight my eyes, and do my nails. All that takes time you know. So how do I look?" "Beautiful," said Nathan. "Good answer, said Carling. Okay let's go get my horse. You drive and I will navigate." They went to the stable and then rode past Alieta at the palace. "There she goes, on her first date in I don't know how many years," thought Alieta. When they got to town they jumped off the horse then Carling told the horse attendant to put it on the palace account. "You have a palace account?" asked Nathan. "Yep, all the girls that work at the palace have accounts, said Carling. Alieta takes good care of her girls. Okay just down this street some and we will be there." As they walked on the sidewalk passing people they all said hi to Carling. "You have lots of friends," said Nathan. "Yep, be nice to others and they will be nice right back, said Carling. Okay, here we are, my favorite place to eat, The Pancake Shop. They make the best pancakes anywhere and amazing milkshakes too." "Sounds good to me," said Nathan. He opened to door for her then Caring went in and sat at the front table. "I was going to pull your chair out for you," said Nathan. "That's okay, this is my spot. I always sit here, said Carling. You really don't have to try so hard to impress me." "Well, my father taught me that a pretty woman is a gift from the heavens and should be treated with respect and love. A girl that you take care of will take care of you even more." "Your father is a wise man," said Carling. "Yep married thirty-five years to my mom and he still opens the door for her and pulls out her chair," said Nathan. "Wow, now that is love," said Carling. The waiter came over and said hello to them. "What are you having today Carling? The house special as usual?" asked the waiter. "Yes please two of them please. Nathan is new here and I want him to see how great your food is," said Carling. "Very well then, I will be back shortly with your order." Then the waiter left. "Nice fancy eatery, said Nathan. Nothing like this in Triland." "Ya they do really good here, said Carling. Not many choices to eat in this town. All the big eateries are in the north town all the way to the other end of Fae Land. Too far to go for lunch." In a bit the waiter came back with their order, placed everything on the table for them and said enjoy then left. "Wow that was fast and look at all the food, said Nathan. Good thing I didn't eat at the palace." "Yep the pancake special, comes with all the fixing and a glass of milk then a milkshake comes after," said Carling. "A milkshake too. We better get eating or it is going to be supper time before we are done," said Nathan. "That's okay, I am in no rush," said Carling with a smile. Ginger was on her way to Alexa's place when she saw her riding towards her. "I wonder where she is going," thought Ginger. "Hey Alexa, where are you off to? I was on my way to your place." Alexa came to a stop. "Hi Ginger, just going to town to see if I can find one of those radios, said Alexa. Tempressa and I have been hanging out a lot and she loves to go shopping. Mostly window shopping but she is always looking for a good deal. She may be rich but she is very smart about her money. Anyways we saw a girl with a radio and it was playing music from the radio station here. I asked her where she bought it because we didn't see any in the stores here. She said in the west town. Tempressa gave me some money to buy one for her also but wanted to go home and have a nap. So what did you want to talk to me about?" "I just wanted to show you my new horse Black Magic," said Ginger. "Yes I saw that, beautiful black stallion you have there. Where did you get him?" asked Alexa. "Alieta bought him from one of the four male elves that got here this morning," said Ginger. "Four are here? I thought there was just two of them," said Alexa. "Well six now and more coming, said Ginger. Alieta made an anoucement on the radio yesterday about the male elves from Triland and about the human's town Haven." "Well Haven I know about, said Alexa. Tempressa has kept me updated with what is going on there. She puts on a hat to hide her ears then rides over and plays with the kids talks to the mothers. Totally out of character for her but she always comes back happy." "Weird, wonder why she needs to hide her ears," said Ginger. "Beats me but she must have her reason, said Alexa. "Well I better head back to the palace. I forgot to order more radios this morning, said Ginger. If they have none left in town come to the palace. There are some still in the storage room." "Okay will do," said Alexa then they both went their separate ways. When Ginger got back she took Black Magic to the stable and asked the elf to give him a good wipe down. "No problem, said the elf. He looks a bit sweaty." "Ya I was in a hurry to get back because I forgot to do something before I left," said Ginger. When Ginger got to the palace, Alieta was sitting in the couch. "I forgot to order more radios before I left," said Ginger. "I know, Janna came by saying the stores are all out of stock, said Alieta. I told her to take the day off. Being out for a day will put a bigger demand on them. Besides there is only one box left in the storage room." "Okay good, I told Alexa to come here and get one for her and Tempressa if they were sold out, said Ginger. I have to get some in the north town also. Okay lets see how fast I can get them here." Ginger called the number to the warehouse. "Hello, this is Ginger from Fae Land. I would like to place another order for the cd radios, the small ones. Now many? Five hundred please. Really, how long will it take to get the rest of them there. Wednesday afternoon? That is as fast as you can get another two fifty there. I guess that will have to do. Account number? No I will be picking them up and paying cash. Pardon me, tomorrow morning now. Okay that is much better. Just call me when they are all boxed up." Then Ginger hung up. "Well money sure talks in Granada. Paying cash magically speeds things up." "Will it cost more?" asked Alieta. "Nope same price as before," said Ginger. "So how did Black Magic do today?" asked Alieta. "Great, I just had to find out what he would do and and what he wouldn't do. Super fast going straight ahead but I have to slow him down to turn. Kyara said he was probably born and raised on a farm for racing horses. They probably couldn't train him to run a oval track full out. That is probably why that male elf ended up with him. No good for racing. Perfect for me though!" "Good, so now we wait for Alexa," said Alieta. "So where are these four new male you told me about?" asked Ginger. "Well one is on a date with Carling, said Alieta. Two are over there beside the steps talking to each other about something. I can't hear them from here. And Malakia, the guy I bought the horse from is sitting way over there by himself. I felt that he was shy around people." "Really, he doesn't look like the shy type," said Ginger. "Well, why else would he be sitting out there by himself," said Alieta. "Well maybe he won't be by himself for long, said Ginger. Here comes Phoebe. She must have finished grooming Black Magic and it is the end of her shift. She is a bit on the shy side too. So do you think she will stop and talk to him?" asked Alieta. "Not sure, let's watch and see," said Ginger. Phoebe was walking slowly towards the palace. She saw a guy sitting on the ground by himself which seemed odd to her. She figured best not to bother him so she walked right past him. She walked about ten feet then stopped. "Maybe he just needs someone to talk to," she thought. It can't hurt to say hi. She turned and walked back to him. Malakia saw her coming and became very uneasy-looking. "Hello, why are you way out here by yourself?" asked Phoebe. "I just like sitting alone when there are so many new people around, said Malikia. New people make me nervous." "Ya I feel the same way around new people, said Phoebe. That is why I like working in the stable. I love feeding and grooming the horses. They don't talk and never ask much from me other than to be fed and watered. They don't expect big things from me." "Ya, I get that, people see that I am big and strong-looking and expect me to do the hardest work and be a leader. I don't want to be a leader," said Malikia. Phoebe smiled. "Can I sit with you for a bit? I will try not to bother you." "You're not bothering me, yes please sit," said Malakia. Phoebe sat down close beside him. "My name is Phoebe, what is yours?" "Malakia. See a stupid name too." "I don't think so, it is a very strong name, said Phoebe. My name is weird, what is Phoebe supposed to mean anyway." "I like it, sounds magical," said Malakia. "Really, my name sounds magical to you, said Phoebe. You are so sweet to say that. So why did you come to Fae Land?" "Well, to find a nice girl and raise a family but I can't see that happening too soon," said Malikia. "Why not?" asked Phoebe. "Well, Katilina our queen told us not to be too forward with the girls here. They are smart and pretty and will come to us if they are interested," said Malikia. "Well, I don't think I am that smart but do you think I am pretty?" asked Phoebe. "Oh yes, you are very pretty," said Malikia. "Well, you weren't forward at all and I came to you. Isn't that what your queen told you to do?" asked Phoebe. "Yes it is," said Malakia. "Did your queen say it was okay if a girl wanted to give you a kiss on the cheek?" asked Phoebe. "She didn't say anything about that," said Malakia. "So can I give you a kiss?" asked Phoebe. "Okay that would be nice," said Malakia. Phoebe leaned over and gave him a nice long kiss on the cheek then Malikia kissed her back. "Look Alieta, they are kissing. Isn't that so romantic, said Ginger. I guess shyness attracts shyness too, just like magic attracts magic." "Ginger, you can be such a nut sometimes," said Alieta. "Ya I know," said Ginger.
